There's something special about the new FinePix z700 ($280). Hitting shelves later this month, the 12MP camera comes in four colors to suit your digital wardrobe, but also packs a punch with its 3.5 inch 16:9 LCD touchscreen so you can frame, edit, and upload your pics (and videos) in just a few steps. But the best part (well, at least for you pet owners out there) is that the FinePix z700 not only comes with face and smile detection for you and your pals to enjoy, but it also recognizes your furry friends' mugs.

I get lots of emails and messages asking for help on picking out a new computer, sound system, and cell phone, but not too often do I get asked for help to prepare for a new addition – a new dog! Community member nxtannawintour sent me the following message:
I'm in the process of buying a dachshund, which I've named Link - after Legends of Zelda, of course. Now I'm looking for gamer-esque accessories for the dog, like a collar, leash, and carrier.

This post comes to us from our community member doodlebug in the Pet of the Day group:
My very talented sis-in-law has just started up an Etsy shop, Gypsy Lane Designs, to promote her custom watercolor pet portraits, and I thought I would share a link in case any pet parents would like to capture the essence of their furry loves.
I've attached a photo of the watercolor portrait of my little Clooney, who has been featured twice as the PetSugar Pet Pic of the Day. I LOVE this print and display it prominently in my apartment. I just know that once you see it you'll want one for yourself! I also welcome your comments and feedback — I'm very proud of my SIL's work and am trying hard to gain publicitiy for her new shop!

Considering how demanding, self-absorbed, and determined animals are, I suspect this is more of a problem than anyone lets on. So here's a chance to turn your pet in: does he want in on the action to the point of distraction?

A user in Group Therapy is newly married and wants something to care for, but she's not sure if it should be a dog or a baby. Some might say if it's a question then the answer is definitely dog, but it also makes a good point: pets are often baby step to the responsibility of caring for an actual baby. Is test-driving caregiving with a Labrador good practice or a bad trick?

Motherhood certainly wasn't a pivotal plot point on ABC's The Bachelor season 14 opener, but it did come up. When asked what she thinks about getting married, having kids, and furry friends, contestant Alexa, a 25-year-old entrepreneur, said, "Dogs are even trickier . .

Hi Casa,
We've just recently adopted an adorable puppy, and we're having a great time with her. The only problem is she's taken over the house! We had to move and hide anything she might eat or chew, so our living room and bookcases look empty.

My husband and I share our house with two dogs, which means a lot more vacuuming and dusting than nonpet people experience in their homes. We try to keep things tidier by keeping the pups off of furniture. However, they have full run of the house, hang out in every room, and even keep us company while we're cooking in the kitchen.
