I'm Asking: Describe Your Least Favorite Co-Worker

One of my favorite moments of last night's episode of The Office was when Michael first sees Toby after his Costa Rican hiatus and repeatedly shouts "no" in Toby's face. Michael doesn't try to keep his distaste for Toby a secret — everyone from the corporate Dunder-Mifflin Office to Scranton knows how much resentment Michael holds for him.

I doubt any of you have tried to set up your co-worker to be busted as a drug dealer, using basil from a caprese salad, no less, but are there any co-workers who you'd describe as your least favorite? Is It Easier to Find a Relationship Than a Friend at The Office?

Last night, Michael, Andy, and Oscar took a business trip that got them out of The Office and took them to Canada. While Michael is off with the concierge from their hotel, Andy and Oscar get drunk together and enjoy each other's company. Andy tries to play Oscar's wingman by approaching two men in the bar he thought were gay, and Oscar encourages Andy to drunk dial Angela and ask her why she won't "do him."

Back in Scranton, Kelly and Ryan reignite their relationship, and Pam comes back from New York and makes an adorable speech to Jim upon her return. It seems like, at least in this office, it's easier to fall in love than make friends; as Andy says, "I had to go all the way to Canada to get to know a guy who sits 20 feet away from me." Watch the video of the early stages of their bromance, and then tell me, do you think it's easier to find a relationship than a friend at work?

Role-playing is The Office's way of demonstrating that practice makes perfect, and Dwight and Jim's performance was comedic perfection. Jim played the client named Mr. Buttlicker while Dwight played the paper salesperson, and each role-player had his own pretend phone. Michael, of course, moderated the whole thing terribly. My first experience with role-playing at work was during college when I was waitressing — I didn't like it then, and I still despise it. Have you had to role-play at work?

Did You Wear Your Halloween Costume to Work?

Dunder Mifflin's Scranton branch got all decked out for Halloween on last night's episode of The Office. Stanley wore a mask so he could discreetly sleep, Kelly dressed as Carrie Bradshaw, Phyllis was Raggedy Ann, Ryan was Gordon Gekko, Andy wore a kitten costume, and Dwight and Kevin both showed up as the Joker. Pam didn't know the tradition was limited to the Scranton branch and went to work in the New York office dressed as Charlie Chaplin, where nobody else wore a costume.

Love Is in the Air on The Office

There wasn't much of anything work-related going on in last nights "Crime Aid" episode of The Office, but there was a whole lot of office romance. The relationships overshadowed the office burglary, which was in fact Michael and Holly's fault for failing to lock up after their lip-lock session. Love is in the air! Between the Dwight-Angela-Andy love triangle, Michael and Holly's third-date escapades, and Pam and Jim's long-distance engagement, Dunder-Mifflin is the hot spot for finding a match.

The Office Baby Shower Is Storkless But There's Cake

Workday parties at the office are usually hard to get excited about — it's not that people don't care about their co-worker's birthday or baby, but most gatherings are inevitably awkward and employees are surprised to realize they'd rather be at their desks. Unless, of course, there are enticing treats involving icing.

Phyllis understands this and uses sheet cake as motivation for the Dunder Mifflin employees to donate money for Jan's baby shower on last night's episode of The Office. She tells Stanley and Oscar to "look at it as if you're paying for the cake, not the baby, sheet cake." Check out the video below of the party committee preparing for the baby shower. The Office: Last Night's Most Relatable Moments

Season five's premiere of The Office sure did not disappoint! While I'd love to gush about Jim and Pam, I'll leave that to BuzzSugar and discuss what was so relatable about last night's episode. There isn't a single scene that I can pinpoint, but the entire weight-loss premise of the show mirrors the health initiatives going on in real offices around the country.

More and more companies are considering the overall health of employees when structuring their health insurance premiums, some are rolling out reward programs for employees with healthy habits, and others are trying to influence their employees to eat healthier by providing, say, fruit instead of cheesecake.

Biggest Loser has inspired some companies to hold contests of their own, just like last night's episode — though I can't imagine they are weighing their employees collectively on an industrial scale. The weekly group pictures taken while standing on the massive scale killed me, and so did Michael calling the group "gigantic losers." Has your HR department come up with any plans to encourage the employees in your company to shed pounds?

The Office: Last Night's Most Relatable Moments

It's difficult to pick the most relatable moments from last night's episode of The Office, because the whole thing had me flashing back to previous office moments of my own! Well, except for the ferris wheel and fireworks at Toby's going away party. But the whole premise of being suspicious of a new co-worker — in this case Toby's replacement, Holly — was pretty spot on. While we (hopefully!) don't creepily peek through blinds and watch the new person like Michael and Dwight in the clip below, there's certainly plenty of judgment surrounding a new employee on her first day.

Most of us have probably been on both sides of the situation — we've felt like the new kid at school and slightly territorial when somebody new joins the team. Dwight says to Holly, "Have you met Kevin, he's here on a special work program. He's slow, ya know, in his brain." Then he follows up with the camera and says, "Hazing is a fun way to show a new employee that she is not welcome or liked." I don't know about hazing, but there's definitely a suspicious curiosity that surfaces when a new employee comes along. Last night's episode of The Office followed Michael, Pam, Oscar, and Darryl on their field trip to the job fair at a local high school. Michael told Pam to bring only one piece of paper with them to the fair, because "a blank sheet of paper equals endless possibilities." When a kid signs his name on the single sheet of paper, Michael insists that it's damaged goods and unusable. Michael sends Pam on the hunt for a new sheet of paper and she's obviously frustrated with Micheal's stubborn and insensible antics. Are any of you familiar with I-want-things-the-way-I-want-them demands (even if they don't make any logical sense) that Pam has to deal with from her boss? I've sure been there before. During last night's episode of The Office, we witnessed Stanley talking back to Michael during a waste-of-time brainstorming meeting about how to "energize" the company. Michael decides to "fake fire" Stanley in order to teach him a lesson, but when he does it's Michael who gets a piece of Stanley's mind. It's obvious that Stanley has been holding in his remarks for years and isn't holding anything back. My favorite line? When he calls Michael a "professional idiot." He's probably had most of this speech prepared as part of his "I quit" fantasy that we've all had in one painful job or another. During last night's episode of The Office, a meeting is held to discuss why the staff has to come into the office on Saturday — at first I was thinking they were getting all Office Space on us, but I shouldn't have thought for a second they’d be unoriginal. Bottlenecks are fixtures in most offices, and in this case it’s the company website that so far has caused nothing but problems. All of the employees say exactly what’s on their minds — those negative, bottleneck-despising thoughts that have crossed most of our minds at one point or another. Pam: "Michael's started the process of selecting a new chair three weeks ago. And normally I wouldn't care but he promised me his old one. It's way better. It's one of these: Shhoooooh. I really want it."
Creed: "When Pam gets Michael's old chair, I get Pam's old chair. Then I'll have two chairs, only one to go."

I can't believe I'm saying that Creed is relatable, but in every office I've gotten to know, most employees are possessive of whatever items they call their own — especially chairs. Pam covets Michael's chair, Creed covets Pam's old chair — total chair envy! I've so been there. Have you?
