Matt Smith Tells Esquire Why Dr Who's a Crap Lover
Matt Smith is making waves as the youngest ever Doctor Who, taking over from the hugely popular and award-winning David Tennant. He's been busy filming since last Summer, but he found time to pose for a series of sultry photos and chat with Esquire about how he was always destined to play Doctor Who, why he thinks the Dr is a crap lover, and how his failed football career led him to acting. Here are the highlights:
- On being destined to play Dr Who:: "At university I had a big coloured scarf, and people would often say ‘Alright, Dr Who?’ And I thought, I rather liked the notion."
- On auditioning for the role of a Time Lord: "It has to be your version.
National Television Awards 2010 — The Winners!
Tonight's National Television Awards were held at London's O2 Arena, and we've already taken a look at all the men and women on the red carpet. Ant and Dec shared a long hug as they accepted the first award of the night for Best Entertainment Programme on behalf of Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, James Corden started his acceptance speech for Gavin and Stacey with some Vanilla Ice lyrics. The man himself took to the stage later with John & Edward in a rather special performance.
DJ David Tennant Goes Out with Georgia to Speak in Tongues
David Tennant was out in London last night with his girlfriend and ex-Doctor Who costar Georgia Moffett at the theatre to see Speaking In Tongues starring John Simm. The couple were both beaming as they left after the play alongside other celebs like Catherine Tate and Simon Le Bon. David's got another challenge coming up as he's to host a radio show on Absolute for a week in the lead up to his final appearance as the Doctor in the hit BBC series.
David Tennant and John Barrowman Share A Comic-Con Kiss
David Tennant and John Barrowman attended a Comic-Con panel for Doctor Who in San Diego yesterday, as it's airing in the US on BBC America — the panel also included stars of Being Human and reflected on Torchwood too. It was one of David's last duties as the Doctor, as Matt Smith has already begun filming the new series as the brand new version of the titular character. 4000 people went to the event, where the fans screamed loud for John, and even louder for David!
First Glance: New Doctor Who Matt Smith And His Assistant!
The new series of Doctor Who has started filming in Cardiff, with Matt Smith taking over from David Tennant as the new Doctor. The episodes that he's shooting at the moment will appear on our screens in Spring 2010.
There's also a brand new assistant joining the cast along with Matt — Karen Gillan plays Amy Pond who joins him in the first episode of the new series.

Doctor Who David's Out In London, While Matt Meets Cannes
New Doctor Who Matt Smith was out in Cannes yesterday, where he's currently promoting a short film called Together. But another new project was certainly on his mind as well — he talked to the BBC about how his life may change when he steps into predecessor David Tennant's shoes and the new Doctor Who series is aired in a few months time — check out the video under the cut! Meanwhile, David — who has a new role as American TV's Masterpiece host — was in London last night, leaving Claridge's at quite a pace.

Sugar Bits — Kelly Osbourne Back in Rehab
- Kelly Osbourne has returned to rehab for at least 30 days, mum Sharon has confirmed, saying: "The family is all standing behind her. Kelly knew that she needed help and she's getting it". It is not known what Kelly is getting help for.
