We've heard that skinny jeans can cause tingling thigh syndrome, but in news that will surprise absolutely no one who wears skinny jeans (I even sit half-lotus while meditating in mine!), Consumer Reports physicians say that wearing skinny jeans could also give you bladder infections, yeast infections, blood clots and even fertility problems!
“Once you have those symptoms," NYU assistant professor of neurology Dr. Keith Stiller says with a straight face, "it’s probably not a good idea to for you to keep wearing those clothes.” (Ya think?) What about you — will anything come between you and your Calvins skinnies?

Next time you're waiting in line at the supermarket, do yourself a favor and mosey over to the self-checkout instead. According to Consumer Reports, ringing up groceries yourself could save you calories — as well as cash.
Last month, the magazine reported that the unit price of Coke at the register was more than twice as expensive as Coke sold in the beverage aisle, illustrating the fact that items sold near the checkout tend to be more costly than their grocery aisle counterparts.

The weather turned ch-ch-ch-chilly this weekend, and while the season change gets us in the mood for Halloween it also means we can expect higher energy bills sooner than later. Right on time, Consumer Reports came up with a list of 25 ways to save on utilities when the weather is cold. They are all great tips but these five ideas can appeal to both renters and homeowners alike.

While it may give you a temporary headache, reading the fine print on credit card offers does pay off. Consumer Reports composed research to narrow down the best credit cards available, and in the process it found a few so bad it had to warn us to stay away in its October issue. Here are the three cards they say are the pits; if you come across other cards with similar terms, steer clear.

Consumer Reports recently came out with a 2006 summary report that provides enlightening information about toy injuries and deaths for 2006. While we often hear about lead toy recalls, sometimes we forget about the everyday hazards of regular toys that can be just as dangerous.
Reporting on the 22 toy related deaths that occurred in 2006, the summary states:
"Riding toys, including non-motorized scooters, and toy nails, pegs, and rubber balls were associated with most of the deaths.

There have been so many studies on the benefits of eating dark chocolate, that the market has become flooded with dark chocolate bar options. There are organic bars and imported bars, bars with nibs and bars without, so how do you know which ones are worth eating? You could buy a bunch of bars and figure it out yourself — which doesn't sound like a bad way to spend the evening — or you could rely on a new Consumer Reports study.

Consumer Reports has recently rated the best tasting light beers and hot dogs for summer. As we all know, less calories does not always mean better taste but it's good too see how they match up.
