This mobile-to-mobile messaging service works like BBM by assigning you a PIN so you can keep your number a secret, and all of your texts are free since you aren't using your SMS plan. Plus, Hello! is available worldwide as it works on 3G, GSM, and WiFi networks, and lets you chat with a group of friends all at once. Additionally, push notifications ensure you don't miss any messages, and all of your sent or received photos and messages are saved if you're offline. It's a great alternative to SMS since you can save a few bucks in the long run.

The iPhone and iPod Touch version of Hello! is available now through the App Store for $2 (free if you don't mind bothering with ads), in BlackBerry App World for your BlackBerry smartphones, and is arriving soon for Android devices.

Bump Phones to Transfer Money in PayPal

You can make payments and transfer money on your iPhone with the help of Square and your debit or credit card, but now with PayPal's new app, you don't even need that. Just by bumping your phones together, you can transfer money from one PayPal account to the other - no bank, check, computer, or credit card required.

White Hot: The BlackBerry Bold 9000

Although I'm obviously an iPhone kind of girl, after playing with the White BlackBerry Bold 9000 for a few days, I was considering a switch. It would take some getting used to - using the trackball instead of my fingers to navigate, and re-learning the interface - but the thought did cross my mind. Not to mention, I'd be in good company along with Diane Kruger, Paris Hilton, and The City's Whitney Port, who all use the crisp white Bold. It's not a coincidence that business-types, celebs, and geek chic gals like myself would want to tote this version of the BlackBerry Bold family - it's fast, easy to use, and oh-so-pretty!

As far as the exterior goes, the White BlackBerry Bold 9000 has this iridescent sheen to it that is so appealing. It's not a boring matte white, nor is it too shiny and flashy - it's just right. Really. Plus, the back comes in white leather (which you know I love), and the stock case has the same pleasing iridescence so you can keep the theme going, while still protecting your phone.

Inside, the Bold 9000 comes with 624 MHz processor, mobile streaming, multitasking, Media Sync (to sync up your music and photos from Windows Media Player or iTunes), WiFi, GPS, and ready for AT&T's Navigator app so you can get where you need to go. Additionally, the Bold's WordToGo and SlideshowToGo software allows you to edit your Word or PowerPoint documents on the fly. Take pictures on the 2MP camera, and shoot and store video on an expandable microSD card to view later. But the real looker here is the display. Geek Tip: Quickly Search Through Your BlackBerry Email

You can quickly search all the contents of your iPhone 3GS (including emails) with the Spotlight feature, but where's the Spotlight for your BlackBerry?

There isn't one, but if you need to find a specific email fast, you can use this handy shortcut. While you're in your BlackBerry's email folder, hit "S" and enter in any pertinent info; like sender, or keyword that could have been in the subject line. Your results will pop up, and you'll be on your way!

Amazon Releases Kindle App For BlackBerry

If you don't have the dough to throw down for a Kindle, you don't have to be left out in the cold - nearly a year after the debut of the Kindle app for the iPhone, Amazon finally released its Kindle app for BlackBerry users. This free app gives you access to more than 400,000 titles in Amazon's ebook library, plus, if you already have a Kindle in your gadget arsenal, you can sync up your ereader and smartphone to access the books you've already downloaded, remember the last page you read, and see any notes you left in your reader.

This is great for times you just can't carry your Kindle around with you or when you want to lighten your load for short trips!

How To: Separate Your BlackBerry Texts and Emails

It seems like a million years ago, but I used to carry a BlackBerry Curve which was super convenient, except for the fact that I received all of my emails and SMS texts in the same inbox. I hated that. If I would have known about this tip back then, it would have saved me a lot of griping.

You can separate the inbox your emails and texts arrive to by heading to "Messages," then "Menu" and "Options." From there click on "SMS and Email Inboxes," and "Separate." You'll then find that your texts will appear in their own folder for easy sifting!
