The Office, "New Leads": Best Lines of the Night and Video!

The sales guys at Dunder Mifflin have let their positions go to their heads on this week's The Office, and the rest of the staff (especially Michael) is not too pleased. Jim is on his BlackBerry, Andy has a Bluetooth - so wait, Michael Scott's employees actually work? What happened to our loveable goof-offs?! No sign of them here, as everyone appears to be running off dollar signs.

So how do you rein in a spoiled child? Michael's theory is to withhold (read: literally hide, as in a scavenger hunt) expensive sales leads to regain his authority - which, of course, goes wrong. The episode has a few funny exchanges worth mentioning, although overall, I found the storyline to just be okay. Check out the quotes I liked, and then add your favorites in the comments!

Michael: "Screw you, Halpert. You know, it's not easy getting excited about stuff. You know how you felt when you thought you had seen Roger Clemens."
Jim: "At the Yankees game, yeah."
Michael: "Well, it wasn't him."
Jim: "I have better reason to believe that...you're right. You're right. Well, you're not right, because Johnny Depp in your condo complex?"
Michael: "I know. It also explains why the name on his mailbox was M. Shyamalan."
Jim: "M. Night Shymalan?"
Michael thinks he sees Johnny Depp in his apartment complex - which is, of course, ridiculous, as Jim is the first to point out. Really, Michael, Johnny Depp? Jim is usually right about most things, so perhaps you want to believe him on this one.

For more fun lines, read more.

"Salesman is king. As the best salesman, I am king of kings. Oh, you say Jesus is king of kings. Well, what does that say to you about how I think about myself?"-Dwight
Dwight will stop at nothing to get his hands on the expensive sales leads, even if it means, say, going to the landfill to search for a needle in a haystack (the so-called "needle" being one lead's info). I have to say that the fake green screen/backdrop for the landfill is incredibly obvious, but I was still entertained by watching Michael and Dwight get into a lovers' quarrel, which doesn't happen every day. Even watching them kick around the giant-sized spool was worth a chuckle or two.

Kelly: "You know, maybe if the salesmen weren't acting like a bunch of stuck up losers, maybe this day wouldn't be so bad. Did you ever think of that?"
Jim: "I have new baby pictures."
Kelly: "Don't use your cute baby to make us like you."
Jim: "She was wearing a onesie."
Jim tries to ease relations between his sales side and the rest of the office (in this case, Kelly and Oscar), but it appears the damage has already been done. Don't you hate it when people use their child against you? Evil, Jim. Not that Jim is totally to blame; I'd bet that onesie is pretty cute.

Michael: "You know what I should have been doing? I should have been out at bars, finding my soulmate, finding my wife, making babies."
Dwight: "Nice babies you're making with the floosies at the bars."
Michael: "That's my wife you're talking about, man!"
Dwight: "Your made-up wife who doesn't exist?"
The verbal brawl between Dwight and Michael at the dumpster continues, with Michael coming up with excuses for why he hasn't settled down yet. The two eventually make up (thanks in part to a giant old beanbag chair), but the whole back-and-forth raised a semi-interesting point - will Michael ever get married? What do you think?

Here's the video of their argument, so you can enjoy it a second time:
The Office, "Sabre": Best Lines of the Night

The Office is finally back this week (and I don't mean with a weak clip show). Dunder-Mifflin has been bought out by a company called Sabre, which means some ch-ch-changes for Michael and the rest of the crew. We get a couple of celebrity cameos, a little Pam and Jim awkwardness, and most importantly - the invention of the "suckit."

Ready to discuss the funniest moments? Just read more.

"Have you tried making everything smaller?" - Creed
You can always count on Creed to make a totally offbeat comment, and this time his unhelpful remark is directed at Pam and Oscar as they try to repack Gabe's box of office equipment.

"Erin, scissor me please." - Michael
"Beer me" has always been one of my favorite phrases to come out of Dunder-Mifflin, but Michael takes it to a new level here. I particularly loved the look of awe and horror on Pam's face.

"There is a small part of me that is actually very excited about this new company. But 70 percent of me is water, and the other part, the real part, the part that has feelings and emotions and thoughts and makes decisions, and, if I can be crass, makes babies. . . that part thinks that all of these changes suck ba---." - Michael
Michael's speeches can be pretty hit or miss, but I really enjoyed this one about the new office repertoire, especially because the cut to commercial could not have been more perfectly timed.

"Have you ever tasted a rainbow? At Sabre, you will." - Christian Slater
That's right, Christian Slater makes a cameo and delivers one of the best lines of the night. 'Nuff said.

"Is this because Jim walked in on you going to the bathroom?" - Pam
In general I've been finding most of the Pam and Jim baby stuff to be a little dull, but I totally cracked up when Pam just went for it at the daycare interview.

What did you think of this week's episode? I thought it had a few chuckles without going over the top, but I wasn't exactly in stitches. Did I miss any great one-liners?

Oh, and if you want to keep the conversation going, be sure to check out The Office community group!

http://www.sciencealert.com.au/features/20071608-16209.html

Working green: 50 tips to reduce your office's waste
Thursday, 16 August 2007
By Jessica Hupp

From daily smog to the rising threat of global warming, it’s pretty obvious that we all need to clean up our act a little. Much has been said about how to go about doing this at home, but what about in the workplace? Copiers, computers, even old floppy disks, can make a huge impact on the environment. Here’s are a few ways to reduce your office’s effect.

Paper and printing products

Nearly every office, large or small, relies on large quantities of paper. Check out these tips to help reduce the amount of paper and printing products that are used at your workplace.

Use both sides of paper: When making copies, set your machine to use both sides of paper and cut your consumption in half.
Shred and reuse unwanted paper: Instead of throwing away old documents, shred them and reuse them as packing material in shipments.
Reuse boxes: When you get shipments in, save your boxes so that you can use them again for shipments out.
Offer paper recycling: Put a paper recycling receptacle next to every printer, copier and fax machine so that employees can deposit unwanted paper in them. Discuss recycling with your cleaning crew or appoint a person to bring your paper to a recycling center each week.
Avoid color printing: Color printing generally uses more ink, so print in black and white when you can.
Print in draft mode: To conserve even more ink, print in draft mode. It will generally lighten the shade, but you’ll still be able to read your copy clearly.
Buy paper wisely: Create a policy to buy only chlorine-free paper with a high percentage of recycled content.
Consider alternative paper: Think about buying paper made from hemp, bamboo or organic cotton.
Buy recycled toner and ink: Cartridges contribute metal and plastic to landfills, but buying toner and ink that’s refilled can help alleviate this environmental burden.
Distribute memos via email: Instead of printing out memos for distribution, email them and let employees decide whether or not they wish to print them.
Store manuals, policies and other documents online: Don’t print out huge employee handbooks. Allow employees to access PDF copies at their leisure.
Provide air dryers in the bathroom and common areas: Reduce paper towel waste by providing air dryers as an alternative. Take it a step further and provide reusable towels.
Reduce margins: Reduce your margin settings so that your printer uses less paper.
Transportation

You may not consider commuting to be a part of your office’s environmental impact, but your transportation policies can make a large difference. Encourage telecommuting, biking, and other green transportation options by taking these steps.

Encourage employees to walk or bike to work: Make walking or biking an easier option by offering showers and private changing areas at your office.
Offer a bonus for green commuters: If employees agree to walk, bike, or take public transportation to work, offer them a small bonus for encouragement.
Support alternative schedules: Allow employees to work longer hours, but fewer days, in order to let them stay at home once a week or more.
Create a carpool program: Many of your employees may want to carpool, but don’t know where coworkers live or simply don’t have the courage to ask around. You can help by administering a program to get them connected.
Offer telecommuting: If some or all of your employees’ work can be done at home, give them the option to telecommute.
Encourage efficient vehicles: If you provide company cars to employees, consider purchasing hybrids. Additionally, encourage employees to rent hybrids or other high-efficiency cars when they take business trips.
Videoconference: Whenever possible, try to videoconference instead of traveling to meetings.
Offer bike parking: Provide employees with a secure space to park their bikes in order to encourage this mode of transportation.
Equipment

Manufacturing office equipment contributes greatly to reducing air quality and landfill waste. Consider these tips when you’re purchasing equipment for your business.

Buy used furniture: When appointing your office, check out sites like Craigslist or FreeCycle for cheap or free used furniture. You can also check out remanufactured cubicles for both cost and environmental savings.
Recycle floppy disks: Turn your old floppy disks into a pen cup or other useful storage unit.
Buy used copiers and faxes: Manufacturing equipment like copiers and faxes creates lots of waste. Buy used equipment to eliminate waste, but make sure that they are still efficient.
Unplug equipment when not in use: Encourage employees to shut down and unplug copiers, printers and other equipment when they leave the office every evening.
Recycle your e-waste.: Cell phones, computers, printers and other equipment can often be recycled. Look for recycling programs in your area that accept these kinds of materials.
Buy high-quality equipment: When buying equipment, be sure to purchase something that will last and not become obsolete quickly. That way, you’ll avoid having to buy new equipment and contributing to manufacturing waste.
Electricity

Small changes in air conditioning, lighting, and fixtures can make a huge difference in your energy consumption. Follow these guidelines to save the environment and save on your electricity bill.

Change your thermostat: Set your thermostat a few degrees lower in the winter and a few degrees higher in the summer. Encourage employees to bring personal fans and sweaters to ensure that they stay comfortable.
Switch to compact fluorescent bulbs: As your current light bulbs burn out, replace them with compact fluorescent bulbs. They are more efficient and last much longer than traditional bulbs.
Buy from a green energy company: Many utility companies generate their electricity using wind or other alternative energy sources. Consider purchasing your electricity from one of these companies.
Create an after hours and weekend thermostat setting: If you know your employees aren’t going to be in the office, create a setting that conserves more energy during these hours. Be sure to allow an override function so that it can be changed if someone decides to come in to work.
Turn off lights when not in use: Ask employees to turn off lights when they leave. Invest in automatic switches in places like the bathroom and supply areas so that they turn on and off whenever someone enters or leaves the room.
Take advantage of natural lighting: Install windows and skylights so that you can use natural daytime light instead of electrical lighting.
Buy Energy Star fixtures: When buying fixtures, look for the Energy Star label to save at least two-thirds less energy than regular ones.
Unplug vending machines: When your office goes on vacation or leaves for the weekend, unplug vending machines.
Computers

Like other appliances, computers can be major energy hogs. Adjust screen savers, energy plans and quality to streamline your company’s computer efficiency.

Unplug computers when not in use: Encourage employees to shut down and unplug their computers when they leave the office for the day.
Buy for quality: When shopping for computers, buy units that will last and avoid becoming obsolete too quickly. This way, you’ll avoid contributing to e-waste.
Buy for energy savings: When shopping, be sure to ask if your computers, monitors and printers are energy efficient.
Give your computer a nap: Ask your IT department to set your computers to go to sleep when not in use. Creating short energy breaks can cut energy use by up to 70 percent.
Banish screen savers: Make sure that employees know screen savers won’t save energy. They eat up lighting and processing energy. Instead, set screen savers to “none” or “blank screen.”
Buy smaller monitors: You can reduce your monitor’s consumption by up to 30% by using a 2 inch smaller monitor.
Consider laptops: Consider buying laptops instead of desktops, as they generally use less energy and are more efficiently made.
Miscellaneous

Every little thing adds up when it comes to office waste. Check out these tips for even more ways to reduce your consumption at work.

Use simple cleaning supplies: Discuss cleaning supplies with your maintenance crew. Ask them to consider using cleaners like baking soda or vinegar instead of commercial products.
Do the dishes: Provide reusable dishes, silverware and glasses for luncheons.
Provide filtered water: Instead of bottled water, provide employees with filtered drinking water and reusable cups.
Install low-flow faucets and toilets: Help conserve water by installing low-flow faucets and toilets in restrooms and other common areas. This will also help conserve electricity by reducing your water heater’s output.
Buy local, organic coffee and tea: If you provide coffee or tea service to employees, be sure that it’s local and organic to reduce your environmental impact.
Consider office sharing: If you have a number of employees that don’t use the office regularly, consider assigning offices based on a schedule. You’ll save on utilities, equipment, furniture and more.
Plant a tree for gifts: In lieu of sending a holiday gift to clients, plant a tree in their name.
Buy sugar and cream dispensers: Avoid paper packets and save waste by offering employees sugar and cream in large dispensers.

The Office, "Murder": Best Lines of the Night and Video!

Well, I do declare! This week's The Office was silly good fun. Distraught over rumors of bankruptcy, Michael suggests that the employees engage in a murder mystery game called Belles, Bourbon and Bullets to keep their spirits up. Pam's recent bad attitude seems to lift as she gets into character, and Andy uses the opportunity to ask Erin on a date. (I can't wait for when those two finally hook up!)

Ready to take a look at some of my favorite quips from the episode (and share your own in the comments)?

Jim: "With all due respect to everyone here, I think the most worthy opponent of you is you."
Dwight: "That is correct. Unless there happen to be measles present."
How awesomely ridiculous is the opening scene where Dwight tries to fight himself during his own karate instructional?! That right there is why Rainn Wilson gets nominated for Emmys.

For more funny lines, plus a video of the Clue-like antics, read more.

"Your feelings journal? You told me to put it in the time capsule."-Erin
Check out Erin delivering yet another great quote this week! I'm curious to see what the writers do with her character, especially now that they're setting up this will-they-or-won't-they thing with Andy that's slightly reminiscent of another Office couple.

"You can all have jobs at Schrute farms as human scarecrows. It doesn't pay much, and you can't unionize."-Dwight
Leave it to Dwight to concoct a plan when news of the company's money loss hits the Scranton branch.

"Operation got me through my vasectomy, i.e. my operation. I don't think I would've been able to endure my breakup with Holly had it not been for Toss Across."-Michael
Michael explains his use of board games as a coping mechanism to Jim, but my favorite part is when he plays "Lullaby" by Sean Mullins on his computer to wallow in his sadness. Anyone else remember that song? Love the '90s nostalgia!

Kevin: "Now do the Swedish Chef."
Andy: "I'm not familiar, what province is he from?"
Kevin: "He lives on Sesame Street, dumbass."
Andy does such a good job with his Savannah accent using his "molasses" technique that oddball Kevin asks him to talk like the Swedish Chef from Sesame Street. But I have to mention Creed -I was dying when he shows up to the office, hears about the "murder," and speeds off in his car! Also, kudos to the crime scene with Meredith and to Oscar for putting on the strangest accent I have ever heard. Check him out in this video:

"Today is the hardest I have worked in a long, long time."-Michael
Sad thing is, Michael's probably telling the truth.

So what's your assessment of the evening? It sounds like there are tough times ahead for everyone, since David Wallace says the company will be out of money by the end of the year. What do you think will happen? My hopes are that Michael and Dwight will cook up some solution that doesn't involve scarecrows. And what do you make of the Erin and Andy romance - do you want to see it happen?

Don't forget that you can discuss the episode in full over at The Office! group in the BuzzSugar Community!

The cables and cords under your feet might be your ticket to win a wireless headset in next month's photo contest on lenzr. Canadian photographers with an ounce of creativity might be well advised to have a look at this month's offerings on this serial contest website.
The new challenge, Everyday Tangled Web is designed to showcase the cords and confusion we create and use everyday. Use the contest caption to describe what would happen if those connections were to come apart?
Sponsored by an office phone system design and installation firm in Toronto Ontario, the prize is a Plantronics wireless headset. The prize is quite generous, but appropriate as this is an excellent DIY solution to help reduce clutter in the workspace.
Like al Lenzr assignments, the contest is open to Canadians only, excluding Quebec and children under the age of 13. Contest ends March 1st 2010, and of course, you can find more information about S.E. Telecom on the Lenzr blog.

I went to the town area today, where there are more office buildings and stuff. & this lady's outfit REALLY CAUGHT my attention! She isn't really outstanding when in comes to looks for anything, but her outfit contained a WOW factor. & this is something she was wearing, and it looked really chic & sophisticated at the same time. Also, she has a pretty curvy figure, & a small waist which has been further magnified by her outfit. Hope you ladies love it too :)

The Office, "Scott's Tots": Best Lines of the Night and Video!

Hmm, it just me or was this week's The Office just not as funny as we've come to expect? Michael visits a school for "Scott's Tots," a program that he started ten years earlier to send kids to college. The problem is that he can't afford to keep good on his promise. Sounds like a funny premise, but I just found the whole thing kind of sad. Thank goodness for Dwight who provides the laughs in this episode while trying to sabotage Jim, of course. The best part is when he calls David Wallace pretending to be Stanley, Kevin, and Toby. He had me in stitches!

Ready to recap some of the best zingers, as well as a few highlights from the evening? Let's get started.

Andy: "Well if we're complaining, a lot of people think your Elvis voice is annoying."
Michael: "Okay, who said that?"
Andy: "Just people. For the record, I think it's pretty fantastic."
Michael: "Well, thank you, thank you a lot. And for what it's worth, I think your baby voice is tops."
Andy: "Thank you, Mr. Elvis."
Michael: "You're welcome, baby."

Sometimes the one-off opening of the show is my favorite part of the night. (Remember the amazing parkour intro in this season's premiere?) I especially appreciated this one, since someone finally calls Andy out for his baby voices. Seeing him talk with his wubby-bubby voice to Michael's curled-lip Elvis is pretty hilarious.

For more funny quotes, plus a video of Dwight's Oscar-worthy co-worker impressions, read more.

Erin: "There's about 30 news alerts for Nip Slip."
Michael: "For what?!"
Erin: "Nip. Slip."
Michael: "Oh, I don't know how those get on there. Must be hackers."

Michael is having a hard time warming up to Erin, even though she's doing her best - even helping him clean out his emails, which are unsurprisingly pervy. But towards the end of the episode, they're alone in the car together, and Michael actually has a heart-to-heart with Erin to tell her that she's doing a good job. A sincere and serious Michael? That's not something we see all the time.

In an ideal world, I'd have all ten fingers on my left hand, so my right hand could just be a fist for punching."-Dwight

Oh Dwight, always so ruthless. He's easily the highlight of this episode for me, and I loved watching him manipulate the entire Dunder Mifflin office to take Jim down. You can watch his plan play out in this video. (Can you believe how perfectly he captures Stanley and Kevin's voices? The man is amazing.)

"Now, I can't pay for your college, but you don't have to go to class to be in class. Online courses are a viable option to a traditional college experience. And the best way to access those courses is with your own personal laptop - which is rendered useless without batteries, and I have one for each of you. Hold on, hold on, hold on, they're lithium!"-Michael

The whole episode I was wondering how Michael could possibly smooth over his mistake with the students' tuition, but batteries seem like an appropriately cheap Michael Scott gesture. Thing is, you can't really hate the guy for his faux pas, because he genuinely did want to finance their schooling. I'm not sure how I feel about this side of Michael. I'm actually hoping he returns to his regular outrageous (and totally selfish) self next week - it's more fun to watch!

The Office, "Secret Santa": Best Lines of the Night and Video!

It's a Christmas miracle! After an uber disappointing storyline on The Office last week, this week saw a return to funny jokes that made me laugh out loud. The Dunder Mifflin crew is celebrating their holiday with a Secret Santa swap, and Phyllis dresses up as old St. Nick (much to Michael's chagrin). By the end, the whole crew is celebrating good cheer with karaoke. (Dwight does Green Day)!

I'm excited to relive this episode, so let's begin with my favorite zingers!

"Whoever is giving me the 12 Days of Christmas as my Secret Santa, please stop. I can't take it anymore. My cat killed a turtle dove, the French hens have started pulling out my hair to make a nest, please stop."-Erin
Andy begged to have Erin as his Secret Santa giftee as a chance to romance her, but things go horribly wrong as she shows up to work with giant scratches and we watch her go out to her car, which now has six geese in it - or is it seven swans? Whatever the case, I loved this whole hilarious scenario right up to Andy leading the 12 drummers drumming.

For more great lines, including a video of Michael Scott as Jesus (yes, Jesus), read more.

"For the past several weeks, my Secret Santa has been giving me pieces of a machine that I have been attempting to assemble. I am suspicious of this because I had the exact same idea for catching Osama bin Laden. I would simply send him a different piece each day; he would assemble it to find himself . . . in jail."-Dwight
Dwight gets metal parts from his Secret Santa and spends the entire episode trying to figure out what it is (even assembling it into a gun at one point). What it actually is: a nutcracker. Even better, Dwight says the line while wearing his elf costume.

"If this were Russia, sure, everyone would go to one Santa, and there would be a line around the block. And once you sat on her lap and she asked you what you wanted, you would say probably freedom, at which point the KGB would arrest you and send you to Siberia. It's a good thing Russia doesn't exist anymore."
Once Michael realizes that Phyllis is dressed as Santa too, he comes up with all kinds of wisecracks and ploys to justify keeping his costume.

"Why pay more to sit next to old Tranny Claus over there when you can sit on my lap? Phyllis is only pretending to be a man. I'm the real thing. Sit down on my lap and there will be no doubt (pause). No, no, it's not like penis-wise."-Michael
Tranny Claus? OK, I admit that I love this quote even though it's misogynistic and wrong in every way. Michael tries to convince his co-workers to sit on his lap, and only Kevin gives in. Once Kevin does plant himself on Michael, he doesn't know what to ask for as Michael squirms under the weight. Totally awkward-funny.

Phyllis: "Stanley, ho, ho, ho, you've been very good this year."
Stanley: "I have."
Michael: "Yeah, except for cheating on your wife. Adultery is a sin. Look it up in the Bible, people. What did he get?"
Kevin: "He got scented candles."
Michael: "Oh, well, that's appropriate, lot of fire where you're going. Better get used to it. You're going to H-E-L-L double hockey sticks."
When Michael can't beat Phyllis's Santa, he turns his costume inside out and poses as Jesus instead. He starts condemning his co-workers, including calling Toby the Antichrist. When he touches Toby's forehand and makes a sizzling sound, I just about died. To watch that part again - and trust me, you'll want to - check out the video:

Do you agree that this week is an improvement from last week's episode? Do you have a favorite line or moment that I missed? I'm still smiling about when Kelly squeals over an Edward Cullen New Moon poster as her Secret Santa gift. And I cannot wait to see what happens with the brewing romance between Oscar and the cute warehouse guy, Matt.

Weigh in with your thoughts in the comments, or head on over to The Office! group in the BuzzSugar Community.

a fellow colleague decided to take a mutual endeavor and go for a photo shoot while at lunch in Brooklyn. You could say it's my first official shoot, woohoo! Got some great shots with lots of great light and backdrops, and it was only just before we went back into the office did we come across this little gem of a spot. The light was coming in just right and got one of my favorites of the day...

Office Romance: Taboo or To-Do?

What you need to know before attending your holiday office party

By Andrea Syrtash, ONDating

Sepcial to Yahoo! Personals

Updated: Nov 12, 2007

Andrea Syrtash interviews two office romance veterans with decidedly different points of view. See what they say about workplace affairs.
I remember being one of the first to arrive in math class in seventh grade because I wanted to snag a seat close to my crush, Jonathan. Jonathan was about 5 inches shorter than I was and much better at integers. Learning was more fun with him around.
Fast forward a decade to my first job out of college. I dressed up in my finest sweater set to impress a new employee a few cubicles over. After a few weeks of our eyeing each other in meetings and dining in the horrible cafeteria downstairs, he asked me out and we began a covert office romance that lasted a year. While the relationship started in the office, it did not end because of the office.
As far as I know, our office mates had no idea about the relationship as we made a conscious decision to separate business and pleasure (that meant no hooking up in the paper supply room -- and not just because of wanting to avoid paper cuts...). In fact, years later I told a mutual friend who wanted hard evidence about our affair since she never would have paired us together...and that was part of the fun. Fun you ask?!? Why should work be fun or flirty? Why not! Just look at an office party this holiday season to prove me wrong. Your co-workers yearn to show their sassy -- non sweater-set -- side.
It's no surprise that some singles are hooking up at work since this is where they spend the bulk of their days. I know a number of people who have found true love in the office and married.
Critics have a point
Critics of office romance certainly have a point. If you're more focused on your crush than on your work, you may not meet deadlines or assigned tasks and this will negatively contribute to your office environment and productivity. Moreover, if you are involved with a 'higher up' you run the risk of missing out on a promotion or getting one that others will be cynical of. For this reason, if you date in the office, better to date someone in another department, keep the relationship quiet for the first few months (until you know it's really going somewhere), and set ground rules in advance ( i.e. if it doesn't work out, you won't lodge campaigns against each other at work).

Dating a co-worker is not a 'safe' option on a few levels, but it IS an option when you're single. I am a firm believer that in dating, we all have to take risks to find success.
So, if you're going to take the risk, be smart about it. Do not date your married boss and do not share details with every office mate or the water cooler chatter will heat up fast.
Here are some other rules of managing office romance:
1. Do not blab to the whole office the night you first hook up. Confide in your friends in the 'real world'
2. Figure out if it's a fun roll in the hay or if you see long-term potential with this person. If it's fun sex, it may not be worth taking the risk but if it's looking like you may have a future with your office mate, it may be worth exploring.
3. And finally -- if it's explicitly stated in your contract that office romance is against company policy ask yourself -- is it worth losing your job over your crush? Maybe.
The bottom line is that office romance happens. In fact, I'm betting someone down the hall from you is having a little office fling of her own as you're reading this article...
So -- weigh the risks against the rewards when evaluating the possibility of an office romance. Do a solid cost-benefit analysis. I'm sure my math crush Jonathan would have been satisfied with that equation.
