Sobees only works in Windows 7, XP, and Vista; you can also use a web-based version for Silverlight, and they'll be releasing a mobile app soon. Similar to the Flip Clock iPhone App, the Fliqlo screensaver is a throwback to the pretty vintage alarm clock. It's free to download, and available for PC or Mac. Once downloaded and selected, the screensaver turns your screen into one giant flip clock. I love its retro feel and simple design, and the large display makes the time visible from across the room.

Even though the time is constantly displayed in the upper righthand corner of my Mac, I sometimes find the day completely getting away from me - plus, I tend to work better under pressure. I'm really excited about the latest version of the Apimac Timer, which can be used as a stopwatch, countdown timer, or alarm clock. Want to set a 30-minute limit on your lunchtime web surfing? Just set the countdown for 30 minutes. Want to see how long it takes you to accomplish a certain task? Set the stopwatch. (There's something pretty exciting about working against the clock, don't you think?)

My favorite feature of this alarm in particular is that you can set it to play any song from your iTunes library instead of some random or annoying alarm clock sound. In addition to song-playing, you can also set the alarm to announce the time or play any sound file, and if you upgrade to the pro version of the application for $30, you can set many of the computer's functions to a timer, like sending emails, restarting or shutting down the computer, and more.

If you don't have an Apple computer, I've mentioned this timer widget for your desktop - also helpful for increasing productivity.

Every so often, I stumble across an iPhone app that I'm happy to spend a dollar on for sheer entertainment value. Big Words is one of those apps. It's a basic application that does one thing: it writes text in large portrait or landscape mode in white words on a black background on your iPhone.

It's fun to use it while taking hilarious photos, catching a frend's attention across a crowded room, or just telling someone how you feel about a given situation (see: photo at right). Sure, it might seem strange to spend a buck on an app that doesn't do much of anything, but it will most likely guarantee lots of laughter at your next party.

Similar to my desktop wallpaper, I like to keep my BlackBerry's wallpaper beautiful as well. What is currently adorning my BB's screen? A beautiful floral design wallpaper from the Kindred website which I manually resized to fit my screen perfectly.

I feel like every holiday season, there's at least one gadget that everyone is trying to get their hands on - remember the instanity with the Wii?

If there's a certain product that you're waiting to come back into stock, but you don't want to have to keep searching Amazon every day to see if it's available, there's a download called Buy Later, which will come in handy.

After downloading this Firefox extension, Buy Later will add a button to Amazon.com webpages and monitors when specific products come back in stock. You will then either receive an email or tweet notification so you know you can get the goods!

Website of the Day: Fotobabble

Sometimes the simplest idea can brighten your day. Case in point: Fotobabble, a site that adds a voice recording to any photo. First, upload any image to the site, then add a recording - your voice, music, your dog, anything. Fotobabble attaches the audio to the photograph and provides an embed code and URL to share via your blog, website, or through email. You can even post directly to Facebook or Twitter through the site. It's completely web-based, so there's no software for you or your recipients to download. Plus, it's free! Look out for the iPhone and Android applications coming later this year.
