When Oscar nominations were announced Tuesday morning, Angelina Jolie’s name was noticeably absent, despite scoring both Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild nods.

Atonement - Breathtaking and Brilliant

Progress Update!
I know that Phasekitty has been keeping us all up to date on her progress at seeing all of the nominated films, but I thought I would start a post to check in with everyone else that's playing along with us. Like Phasekitty, I started off having seen 13/39 of the nominated films (with short form docs, foreign language films and both categories of shorts not included in that total). The films I had already seen were: Atonement Away From Her Charlie Wilson's War Into the Wild Juno La Vie en Rose Michael Clayton No Country for Old Men Once Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Sweeney Todd There Will Be Blood Transformers Since the nominations were announced, I have been able to cross off 7 more films: Eastern Promises I'm Not There August Rush Enchanted Persepolis The Kite Runner War/Dance which makes my current total 20/39.
