It's obvious why Wednesday earned its rep as "hump day" — certainly in theory, anyway. Falling exactly in the middle of our week, and signaling the oncoming weekend, it seems a likely day for something special. But not since Wednesday's ritual early dismissal from high school can I recall anything tangible to beat the midweek slump and celebrate the fact that the weekend is almost within reach.

Dear Savvy,
I'm lucky enough to have found a job after being laid off from my old one, and I've been working at my new company for about three months. I really like the people and the place, but I'm already bored with the job itself! I obviously don't want to look for another job after being unemployed for months and the company is in the industry where I see my career growing.

It's only Hump Day and so much has happened in the financial world in less than a week. Can you imagine if Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston announced they've been having an affair behind Brad Pitt's back? Well, all this economic news is even bigger than that would be.

A survey of more than 100,000 professionals found that the more educated a woman, the less likely she'll have a successful marriage. Those with MBAs are twice as likely to get divorced or separated as men with the same educational background, and slightly more likely to have a failed marriage than women with bachelor degrees. Women with law or medical degrees are also more likely to divorce or separate than men with equivalent diplomas.
