We all know the hiring outlook for the New Year is down from what it was going into 2008, so I'm choosing to focus on the positives this New Year's Eve day. CareerBuilder's Annual Job Survey found that 31 percent of employers anticipate offering workers more flexible work arrangements in 2009. My boyfriend and I communicate during the work day over instant message, usually just to check in and say hi. He's been working some really long hours and it feels as though we are two ships passing in the night even though we live together. Workplaces make ideal TV show settings because viewers can relate to the concept and maybe even the characters.
