Homes are one category where you cannot judge the cost by its cover. Housing prices vary wildly depending on geography — the same chunk of change can buy a 1,000 square-foot condo in one part of the country or a 5,200 spacious home in another area.
The 2009 Coldwell Banker Home Price Comparison Index was released this week, and it's an "apples-to-apples" comparison of the prices around the nation for 2,200-square-foot, four-bedroom, two-and-one-half bath, single-family homes.

There aren't any classic TV shows following a group of loaded teens in Fisher Island, FL, but there are 475 well-off residents who call it home. The small community is famous for its Vanderbilt mansion and is full of sprawling homes that command a median sale price of $3.85 million. According to Forbes, Fisher Island (33109) is the priciest zip code in the US.

All of you Hills fans may recall Heidi's obsession with her wedding cake on the show's season finale featuring the Montag-Pratt nuptials. The bedazzled bride went so far as calling the cake the most important detail.
There was no cake in sight at my own wedding; my dessert of choice was something nontraditional.

We're used to hearing about unemployment statistics on a national scale, but jobs are also relative to local economies. When Forbes came up with its list of the best places for business and careers, it couldn't help but realize the worst cities, too. After all, some places had to fall to the bottom of the list.

If success is a turn-on, then the hot power couples in Hollywood must be lusting after each other to no end. These may be two-income households, but both halves can hold their own in millions. The jury is out on who tends to pick up the check, but Forbes has declared which pairs fit the bill as the top-earning couples in Hollywood.

The introduction of the new 90210 got me thinking about posh Beverly Hills, and with the never-gets-old theme song in mind, I went searching for information on real estate by zip code. Turns out I didn't have to look too far, because Forbes created a list of the most overpriced zip codes in the US. Forbes determined if a zip code was overpriced by looking at how much of a premium home owners pay in comparison to how much it costs to rent a similar home in the area.
