This year, Labor Day falls almost a full week later than usual, and most kids are already back in school, so many families are choosing to celebrate the last of Summer this weekend instead. AAA forecasts six million fewer travelers than last year's holiday weekend, but the expected amount of travelers exceeds numbers from 2004 to 2007. Do you have plans to head out of town next weekend?

Labor Day is a United States federal holiday that was developed in the 19th century to acknowledge the social and economic achievements of working Americans. According to the US Department of Labor, the holiday "constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country."
There's nothing not to love about holidays that cause our employers to lock the office doors.

Stores are doing their best to motivate shoppers to spend their hard-earned money over the long Labor Day weekend which is, a bit ironically, in recognition of hard-working Americans.
The National Retail Federation has projected that some retail categories will have stronger sales figures than this time last year, thanks in part to the higher-than-usual discounts some stores are using as bait. Are there any particular store sales you plan to check out, or will you be holding onto your moolah this weekend?

Your chiropractor is probably familiar with your occupational hazards; your neck, back, shoulders, and hips can get awfully tight sitting at your desk all day, every day. That pain and soreness seems more than minor when you think about people that have jobs so dangerous they're considered deadly.
The Department of Labor tracks fatalities by profession and named the deadliest jobs in the US based on those numbers.

Frenchie may have been on to something when she gave beauty school a shot, but these days many students considering cosmetology aren't dropping out of high school like the Grease redhead. An increasing number of full-time workers are enrolling in cosmetology programs to serve as a back-up plan in the uncertain economy or to gain skills for a second career to bring in additional income.
According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates for growth in the field during the next several years, it seems like a smart option for some people — between 2006 and 2016, the personal appearance field will grow an estimated 14 percent.
