Joel Madden and Harlow couldn't have looked any sweeter on a coffee and water run in LA yesterday. She sported a fun hoodie and played with her favorite toy, an empty cup — she's grown up a lot since the first time we saw her with one. Time has flown for the almost-1-year-old, but there's at least one person in her life that isn't so eager for Harlow's future.

Fresh off a bikini-clad trip to Maui last week, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden wasted no time kicking off 2009 with some good deeds. On Friday they went shopping at Chanel in Beverly Hills, but the real giving back fun began on Saturday when they headed to Six Flags Magic Mountain. In addition to hitting the rides, they spent time with kids from Beyond Shelter, posing for plenty of photo ops with Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck.

The duo spent some time there last year where Nicole showed off her pregnant belly in a green bikini, and now it's time to introduce Harlow to one of their favorite spots.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden were out shopping the after-Christmas sales in LA on Friday. She swapped her sunglasses halfway through, while Joel was responsible for hauling their multiple bags back to the car. Nicole's the one famous for her fashion, but Joel's next project might involve a few costume changes of his own — he's apparently been taking acting classes and has even lined up a role in an upcoming MTV movie.

After almost a year of parenthood the couple have admitted to wanting more if they are "as easy and wonderful as Harlow!"

Dec. 18 isn't only Katie Holmes and Brad Pitt's birthdays; Christina Aguilera celebrated turning 28 in style at Osteria Mozza in LA last night with her husband and friends. She and Jordan go all out for Halloween each year, so it's no surprise that she chose a Clockwork Orange-themed costume bash.

It was a starlet-studded night on Robertson Blvd at the new D&G flagship store opening last night. Nicole Richie may not be working on an album after all, but she worked the red carpet with Joel and he wasn't the only Madden in the house. Recent exes Paris Hilton and Benji Madden both came out for the party.

Nicole Richie and Jessica Alba continued their family-filled weekends yesterday afternoon by bringing their daughters to a friend's party in LA. Jessica and Honor brought Cash, while Nicole and Harlow had Joel with them after celebrating the launch of his footwear line the night before. Harlow showed off her love of tights while Honor and Jessica kept things a little more casual.

Nicole Richie took an animated Harlow out on Saturday and then put on a LBD to join Joel Madden for his footwear line launch with his brother that night. Joel is still working on ideas for Christmas gifts for his girls, and said he needs to think of something creative for Nicole — who isn't "really into diamonds." Ashlee Simpson made her first post-baby debut Monday night and was out again yesterday for Pete Wentz's "Without You I'm Just Me" art gallery opening in LA. Ashlee's whole family joined in on the fun, including Jessica matching her sister in stripes. Nicole Richie seems to travel with both Madden boys these days, and hopefully she and Joel can pass on some tips to their friends Ashlee and Pete on being a new parent.
