Dreams are supposed to offer an escape from reality and transport us to far away lands, but sometimes the realities of the day catch up with us at night. I have woken up from vivid dreams about conversations with my co-workers, confrontations with my manager, and conundrums that never happened in waking life more times than I'd like to admit. It seems obvious that the trials of our careers stay in our subconscious and spring up at night, but it can be jarring and quickly turn into one of those residual "Yikes!

Love and marriage may go together, but love and money don't always. Thirty percent of Americans, 23 percent of Canadians, 24 percent of the French, and 12 percent of Germans say the recession has added stress to or ruined their relationship or marriage. These are startling stats, especially when you consider only 11 percent of SavvySugar readers say they have never fought with their spouse over money.

Dear Savvy,
My husband and I share a bank account. We both work (he makes more money than I do) and it was his idea to combine bank accounts when we got married a year ago. The combined money situation was going smoothly until recently, when he started spending like he did when he was single.

It would be easy cocktail party conversation to say you once had a famous teacher. Several ex-teachers are now household names for reasons that have nothing to do with a chalkboard. Can you guess who once had students and a classroom to call his own?

Dear Savvy,
I've been unemployed for a couple months and am trying to stay positive, but I find it difficult when my best friend constantly talks about how busy she is at work. It's the first thing out of her mouth every time we talk, and it seems like her job is all she wants to talk about. I'm typically very supportive of her career, but she's bringing up her job more than ever at a time when I'm working my butt off trying to find a job that will pay the bills.

More and more women in Japan are making a surprising career choice: drinking and flirting with men for a huge salary. Although "hostessing" used to be considered shameful, it’s becoming a more attractive option for young women.
The lowest paid hostesses earn at least $20 an hour, while the highest paid can earn up to $300,000 a year.

As respectful human resource-fearing employees, we're expected (even required) to behave like consummate professionals and steer clear of inappropriate behavior at the workplace — whether with our gender or the opposite. I have found boardrooms have the power to hold up a PC standard that is unparalleled elsewhere in life: everyone working for a shared goal with little room for humor, silly antics, innuendo, or the social lubricants we use in casual conversation, dating, and non-professional human interaction.
But let's face it: boys will be boys, and girls will be girls.

The Swim Fashion Week in Miami took place last week, and while swimsuit enthusiasts are still buzzing about the hot new lines, some analysts are taking the conversation in another direction.
They're saying the reemergence of retro-styled suiting suggests a "return to happier times," and while most areas of fashion were down last year, swimsuit sales actually went up. This fact surprised me and got me thinking — how much are you willing to spend on a swimsuit?
