We’ve already determined that the gender gap hasn’t quite closed — especially at the top, men are continuing to outearn women, sometimes by an alarming amount. But according to New York Times blogger and management coach Peggy Klaus, the wage gap isn’t the only gender issue women face in the workplace today; the good ol' double standard is also still alive and well. Career counselors would surely offer a better assessment of the types of jobs that would be most suitable for you than, say, a color test. Would you consider visiting one if you had the funds to do so?

There are times when we know that change is the answer but have no idea what type of change is needed. Careers may turn sharp corners at any point during our working lives and any big decision should be thought through completely.
We look to friends, boyfriends, parents, siblings, mentors, and career psychics to help us sort through the pros and cons.

Ask any career coach, interviewer, friend, or even stylist, and they'll tell you confidence is the number one thing that will give you an edge and make you stand out. Traditionally, confidence before an interview comes from thorough preparation, conviction that you have what it takes, and an outfit that makes you look the part, but a recent study suggests you might want to add a step to your pre-interview checklist.
According to a new study published in the journal Psychological Science, counting cash "can reduce emotional and physical pain as well as increase feelings of internal strength, fearlessness and confidence."
