Dreams are supposed to offer an escape from reality and transport us to far away lands, but sometimes the realities of the day catch up with us at night. I have woken up from vivid dreams about conversations with my co-workers, confrontations with my manager, and conundrums that never happened in waking life more times than I'd like to admit. It seems obvious that the trials of our careers stay in our subconscious and spring up at night, but it can be jarring and quickly turn into one of those residual "Yikes!

It's hard to pass judgment on a career you haven't had, but forget education, relevant experience, and interview contacts for a second. Which career do you think is cooler?

At the start of the recent Memorial Day Weekend, I ventured to San Diego where I stayed in a hotel equipped with several shops. Our check-in chit-chat involved an overview of the grounds, map and all, and the representative helping us paused when she came to the retail cluster on the map. She said, "And here are all of the shops.

The IRS has run into a few snafus in sending out rebate checks on a supposedly earlier than planned schedule, and the most recent glitch may have some people who were counting on that check feeling rather frustrated. According to South Florida's Sun-Sentinel and Miami's CBS4, if you didn't see your payment deposited into your bank account by May 16, you may have to wait until as late as July 11 to receive your check and it will come in the form of a paper check. That is, if your rebate wasn't mistakenly deposited into someone else's bank account.

In a sexual harassment case last summer, a woman was awarded $1.5 million because she was spanked in front of co-workers. The California Court of Appeal recently overturned the decision because the spanking was part of a larger "camaraderie-building" exercise that included other male and female staff at the home security company Alarm One Inc.
According to CBS News, "Employees were paddled with rival companies' yard signs as part of a contest that pitted sales teams against one another.
