This year, Labor Day falls almost a full week later than usual, and most kids are already back in school, so many families are choosing to celebrate the last of Summer this weekend instead. AAA forecasts six million fewer travelers than last year's holiday weekend, but the expected amount of travelers exceeds numbers from 2004 to 2007. Do you have plans to head out of town next weekend?

Most of the season has already passed, and like me, you might be wondering where all that time went. Summer in the real world means most of your time is still spent doing your daily grind, but hopefully you were able to head out of town for at least a little while. There are plenty of options for hiding your valuables at home, but the beach is a bigger challenge. The upcoming Labor Day weekend will rally crowds eager to soak up the final days of Summer, so keep your belongings safe by only bringing the items you truly need and creatively keeping them out of sight.

This Summer there are bargains to be had on pretty much everything, but I'm most excited about the reduced cost of travel. Forbes is pumped about it, too, and a panel of travel experts compiled a list of the 10 best bargain vacations. In order to be considered for a place on the list, each destination must have been suggested by at least two panelists.

Somehow, money seems to seep out of wallets little more quickly during Summer than it usually does. The laid-back mood makes a lot of us more laid-back about the way we spend. No need to cut back on the Summer fun, just prepare yourself with tools for spending less and you'll enjoy the warm months even more.

Bikinis are on everyone's mind, including Forbes Traveler. The World's Sexiest Beaches are fun to consider, but it might be more realistic to plan a vacation to one of the 10 spots on Forbes' list of North America's Sexiest Beaches. At least half of the North American destinations are particularly doable for travelers on a budget.
