No Green Thumb Needed! DIY Citrus Rind Seed Starters

The next time you're craving some fresh juice, give the rinds a second life as seed starters for growing your own herb garden. It's so easy and only takes a few minutes to get your future plants started. Cut the oranges, lemons, or limes in half, and juice them, putting the rinds to the side and enjoying the juice.

Now fill the halves with soil, and stick a seed in the center. Place it in a sunny spot, keep the soil moist, and within a couple of weeks, the herbs should start seedlings! Once the plants are a few inches tall, replant the entire rind and the sprout in your garden. The rind breaks down, adding nutrients to your soil — keeping your new herbs happy.
