Not only does Dunder Mifflin have its own website, but all of the characters on The Office have their own motivational posters. While most of them are brilliantly random, the only real motivation I feel is to watch the season premiere this week and they make me vaguely sentimental for my middle school's nurse's office that featured oddly placed posters just like these. Check out their motivational posters when you hit start slideshow — which one is your favorite?

Recent events in the financial world have highlighted the reality that jobs don't come with a guarantee, no matter how stable the company authorizing our paychecks appears to be. I've reminded you to service your resume regularly, maintain contact with your network, and continue doing the best job possible to establish good references from your current employer. These are all important factors in planning for the worst, but I have a couple other ideas for what you can do when you have a strong inkling your job might be on the rocks. Find out what they are when you read more
As the government scrambles to prevent our financial system from crumbling to the point of no return, there's a simultaneous effort from the Treasury Department to educate young adults aged 18-24 about the importance of responsibly handling credit. Over the next four to six weeks, video and audio spots will run on donated air time with the warning, "Don’t let your credit put you in a bad place." There's also an online game called The Bad Credit Hotel that is part of the campaign and is meant to teach players about credit scores.
Financial literacy advocates are hoping recent events have brought a new awareness to the dangers of borrowing beyond our means. The campaign is aimed at the 18-24 age group in particular because, as explained by Kathy Crosby of the Ad Council that helped design the campaign, "Our research showed us that there is a sense of invincibility among this age group. Our job was to disrupt this thinking."
Do you think the effort is too late to make an impact, or have recent events allowed for perfect timing in rolling out a financial awareness campaign for young adults?
Does Emergency Legislation Make You Nervous? Congressional Democrats and Republicans have reservations about President Bush's bailout plan, and both John McCain and Barack Obama have want more oversight than Bush proposed. House Republicans called an emergency meeting this afternoon to finalize their alternative to Bush's plan. Their biggest concerns include more protections for taxpayers such as returning profits from the bailout program to the Treasury.
New reports indicate that Anne Hathaway's ex-beau Raffaello Follieri was turned in to the FBI by his administrative assistant. A lot of you have jobs that fall under the administrative professionals umbrella, and most people I know could call themselves part of that club at some point or another.
As much as some of the basic responsibilities can be frustrating to the point of exasperation, I'd rather stand at the copy machine for 10 hours straight and spend overtime at the shredder than work for a criminal. Would you have reported your boss if you had something incriminating on your conscience?
When, in August, 54.2 percent of Californians with homes on the market sold their properties at a loss, the sellers were involved in short sales. The term refers to selling a home for less than the value of the mortgage, and the owners end up still owing money on the property after they've sold it.
While it's ideal to stay in your home until the market improves, sometimes there are circumstances like changing jobs that make it impossible. Banks aren't in the business of forgiving the debt still owed in short sales, and are making the mortgage holders sign I.O.U. letters agreeing to pay part or all of the balance.
