This E! True Hollywood Story Pop-Up Was Exactly as Over-the-Top as You’d Expect — and We Loved It

Mimicking the sparkle and shimmer of Tinsel Town itself, the POPSUGAR x E! True House of Hollywood pop-up captured the essence of the iconic series and the people and events who have been the subjects of its legendary profiles. There were flashing lights, neon accents, sleek surfaces, and luxury all around as guests got a sneak peek inside the lavish world of E! True Hollywood Story. Set in a private mansion on the Sunset Strip, guests were introduced to the wonders that they'll encounter in the new season of the docuseries, from a deep dive into how the hip-hop industry treats women, to the destructive allure of fame, to the paranormal activities that have taken place on movie sets.

The Paparazzi Entry

When they walked in, guests were swarmed by flashing lights and "paparazzi" yelling their name as they walked down a red carpet. To get the full famous-person treatment, the guests then stood in front of the step and repeat to get their movie star photo taken.

The Glam Room

Before heading into the rest of the space, the guests were treated to a celebrity-style glow up, with pros from Glamsquad giving blowouts and makeup touchups so that every selfie would be on fire. The guests were also given previews of episodes from the new season of E! True Hollywood Story while they got beautified.

The Recording Studio

Next, the guests were guided into the recording studio, which paid homage to the E! True Hollywood Story episode on "Does Hip Hop Reject Women?" Here, they were immersed in the neon-lit, graffitied world of '90s hip-hop, complete with acoustic paneling, a sound booth, stereo speakers and sound boards, and a custom mural inspired by a quote from Salt of Salt-N-Pepa.

Guests then moved on to a spooky haunted room full of creepy dolls, static monitors, and flickering lights — an homage to the E! True Hollywood Story episode called "Horror Movies: Cursed or Coincidence?" The curated dolls seemed to be possessed, and guests could hear them whispering while spirits moved within the fuzzy TV screens. The paranormal activity was certainly on high.

The E! True Hollywood Story episode called "Is Fame an Addiction?" came to life in the Rumor Mill — a room covered head-to-toe in a bright collage of gossip columns. Infamous headlines like "Young, Rich & Wild" and "Secrets Revealed" jumped out from the walls in iconic header type, and made the perfect backdrop for some eye-catching selfies.
