Lilly Singh has made us laugh throughout her years in entertainment, and her long, luscious hair has simultaneously left an impression. "It's a huge part of my identity," she tells PS. Singh gets plenty of compliments on her hair, but she notes that people would point out the length and conflate it with being healthy. "I have to admit, there was a period where my hair was really dry, my scalp was really dry. I wasn't doing much to protect it and to make it healthy," she says.

Noting that her mom used to take the time to oil her hair growing up, Singh brought the practice back into her life, making it work with her busy schedule. Her meditative hair-care routine involves hair oiling and hair masks, which helps her achieve healthier hair and gives her a moment for her mental health. "It's great if something looks nice, but when it feels nice and healthy, that's a different thing. We believe that you have to look good to feel good, but I think it's the opposite — you have to feel good to look good. If your hair is healthy, it's going to look good," she says.

Embarking on a journey to healthier hair led her to form a partnership with Aavrani to create problem-solving hair-care products. Aavrani is known for its Ayurvedic-inspired formulas with science-backed ingredients ("RHONY"'s Jessel Taank loves the brand's Moisturizing Hydra-Cream). "What's cool about Aavrani's hair line is it hits on three areas that are really unique at Sephora: it's the ancient wisdom, it's the modern science, and we also do clinical trials with before-and-after pictures," Singh says. After trying out a few of Aavrani's skin-care products, including the editor-favorite Healing Rose Clay Mask, Singh happily joined founder Rooshy Roy to partner on the hair care line, and the rest was history. "For the past year and a half to two years, we've been thinking about what products we think would be valuable. I've tested the products and given feedback on packaging, marketing, and every little part of it. I am very involved in every single thing I do," Singh says.

Along with hair oiling, Singh shares some of her top hair care tips with us. She loves using a wet brush to detangle, and maintains that keeping hair in a braid "is the style that has the least amount of breakage." When she's not working on script writing, acting, running her production company Unicorn Island, and taking care of her hair, Singh is currently watching "The Bear" and reading the latest picks from her book club Lilly's Library. Ahead, she lists her current favorite products that help optimize her life.

Singh gets her hair done often, especially when she travels, and the Aavrani Mini Hair Density Boosting Treatment and Recovery Oil Set ($35) is what brings her hair back to normal, no matter where she is. This set contains travel sizes or a 28-day sample amount of the Hair and Scalp Recovery Oil and the Hair Density Boosting Treatment. "These are TSA-friendly and travel-friendly, which is a huge game-changer. I'm not doing the thing where I'm taking the thing and putting it into a smaller thing, and the thing leaks. Now, I'm able to travel, and my hair doesn't suffer and pay the price," she says.

The Hair and Scalp Recovery Oil is a pre-wash treatment, and Singh uses this to actually help cleanse her scalp and hair from product build-up and hairspray. "Oiling my hair as a pre-wash, leaving it in for a minimum of 10 minutes, but sometimes I also sleep with it overnight, it just makes the wash that much more thorough," she says. The Hair Density Boosting Treatment helps keep her scalp and hair hydrated, especially since her scalp and hair can become drier when traveling. "This set maintains the healthy level of hair that I have in different climates," she says.

Pro Tip: You can also use one to two drops of the Hair and Scalp Recovery Oil to help tame frizz.

Lilly Singh's Investment Must Have

To prioritize her physical, mental, and spiritual health, Singh invested in the Redliro Walking Pad ($200), and she raves that it has changed her life in so many ways. "In an ideal world, every day we would have a work-life balance. My industry does not work as such, but with little hacks like this, I'm prioritizing both things at once," she says. Singh uses her walking pad underneath her desk when she's checking email, on calls, or doing any other activity that allows her to walk and multitask.

"Since I've had this setup, I hit my steps almost every day. I've realized it's just gotten me used to being physically active and walking, so now I've naturally turned into a walker, which I never thought I would be that person," she says. She highly recommends this investment for anyone who primarily sits at a desk for their job and wants to "combine both of these worlds and make it happen."

As a fan of Live Tinted's products, Singh instantly gravitated towards the Live Tinted Hueguard Skin Tint SPF 50 Mineral Sunscreen Broad Spectrum ($42) in shade six and was impressed by it. "The way it matches my skin is fantastic. It is just the right amount of coverage where I don't feel like I'm wearing a face of makeup, but I also just have a little something extra. I received immediate compliments that it makes me look a little more glowy," she says. Singh loves the creamy texture that settles into the skin nicely. Pro Tip: Since this formula delivers buildable coverage, you can layer on as much or as little as you want. But if you prefer lighter coverage, to ensure SPF protection, you can wear another SPF underneath and treat this as a skin tint with added protection.

Lilly Singh's Sleep Must Have

Singh is obsessed with optimizing her life, especially through routines, and the Hatch Restore ($200) is a perfect gadget to bookend her day. "It really helps me get into a routine of putting on the red light and the white noise while I read and wind down," she says. Noting that she's someone who struggles without the sun, she loves how the device mimics the sunrise. "The biggest thing it does for me is the way it wakes me up. I'm not waking up in such a jarring way. It really eases me awake, and then, as soon as I'm awake, it puts me through this positive meditation. As someone who historically has not been a morning person, it's helped me wake up in a more efficient, less miserable way."

Pro Tip: "I've been using the Hatch for the past seven months, and I love it so much that I even travel with it," Singh says. "Since I've gotten the Hatch, I do not sleep next to my phone."

Lilly Singh's Travel Must Have

Singh is a self-proclaimed nerd when it comes to travel gear, and her current favorite is the Lululemon Everywhere Backpack ($78). "I have been through a lot of backpacks, and this is what I have determined to be the perfect travel backpack," she says. She prioritizes organization and calls this her ultimate organizer, since it has a pocket or compartment for everything. "It has enough adjustment on the strap, and the straps are comfortable. It has a strap that attaches to my luggage, which is crucial. Also crucial? It has two, not one, drink holders on the side."

Pro Tip: Singh recommends using the Tripcase. "I have learned from my experience that when a flight is delayed or a gate gets changed, it is literally the first app to tell me. Sometimes the airline doesn't even tell me, and Tripcase tells me first," she says.
