Your Two Cents: Are You Working Today?

Most Americans are spending Memorial Day at barbecues or the beach, enjoying an extra day away from the office. Some businesses keep their doors open to accommodate the people who are celebrating the long weekend, and they're unable to give their staff additional time off. What's your work status today — are you putting in overtime or taking it easy?

nope. for years i worked in retail and ALWAYS worked on memorial day but ever since moving to an office job - i've managed to have the time off.

I was off today :) I even had a great dinner to boot the holiday.

I had the day off...my holiday to work is the Fourth of July, so that's the fun summer holiday that I get to miss out on.

I'm off work, but brought work home because I have a big criminal docket early in the week

I work at a day spa, and we always have Mondays off, but my boyfriend has to work.

Hubby and children have the day off. Hubby and I are going to the gym in a bit, other than that we're pretty much taking it easy. While, I'll still cook and do house stuff, I still consider having the day off since I don't have to cart people to and from school, and hubby is home with me and that's always a nice thing.

Yes. I work in healthcare. No such day as a holiday for us.
