Your Two Cents: Will You Be Shopping Labor Day Sales?

Stores are doing their best to motivate shoppers to spend their hard-earned money over the long Labor Day weekend which is, a bit ironically, in recognition of hard-working Americans.

The National Retail Federation has projected that some retail categories will have stronger sales figures than this time last year, thanks in part to the higher-than-usual discounts some stores are using as bait. Are there any particular store sales you plan to check out, or will you be holding onto your moolah this weekend?

Only if Home Improvement, Ace, or Lowe's are having sales...we are laboring at home this Labor Day!

I redeemed one of those coupons for free underwear at Victoria's Secret at the mall and window shopped at some other stores, but somewhat surprisingly, I didn't buy anything. I already have way too much crap to begin with. There are many good sales going on though for those who need or want stuff.

Yep - I just got a new job and I've been wearing unifrom top for the last 2 years - so I need some new work tops.

in my efforts to maintain some type of budget, i've told myself that just because something is on sale - that doesn't mean that i need to buy it. as a result - i'm not going to go shopping this weekend - even though there are lures of great sales for things that i would love to have. if i wasn't going to buy it already - then i'm not buying it now. the GOOD thing is that i'm in Denver right now at the wedding of my fiance's friend - so it's not like i have all the opportunity to shop anyway.

Heck yes! Since we're moving after the weekend and don't have a washer/dryer, refrigerator, mattress or bed, I think we'll definitely contribute to the economy. Not like we haven't lately with a wedding and Hawaiian honeymoon, oh and a home purchase!

I never PLAN on shopping on labor day sales, but this year it may end up that way as i need to finish getting furniture and things for my apartment. hopefully i will catch a good sale or two :D
