Who Is Michelle Phan?

"I had a personal blog and I posted photos of myself and my school life and a lot of my readers were requesting for me to create a makeup tutorial because I think that, at that time, I was doing lots of weird, obscure tutorials. I decided I’d do a makeup tutorial. Instead of doing the usual blog post where you take a photo and you write the steps, I wanted to do something different so I decided on a film tutorial instead.

I think I was just more about do-it-yourself beauty tips and my readers kind of geared me towards the beauty side of my theme for my blog. And beauty made sense because I love beauty. My mom has been a beautician all her life and it’s something that I’m very familiar with. She’s Vietnamese; she’s a nail technician. I remember back at school, I would go to the nail salon and read all the beauty magazines and my brain would absorb all the information I read."
