While all the perfectly pleasant flights fade away in my memory, the bizarrely uncomfortable ones still scream out in my mind. Right off the top of my head, I recall someone painting her nails midflight and still remember taking a red-eye ride with an entire rugby team on Cinco de Mayo after they lost the championship game. From screaming children to nearby passengers getting a little too close for comfort, let everyone commiserate and share your bad onboard experiences in the comments below.

I just got back from Greece which was a 11 hour flight. The man in front of me was so heavy that he broke the chair and it was then able to recline all the way into my lap. He stayed that way the ENTIRE 11 hours, even after I asked him politely to raise his seat and he refused. I couldn't even see my personal television because he was reclined so far! I was furious.

On two separate flights from London to Seattle, I sat next to passengers who were - to put it politely - far too big for their seats. Both flights were fully booked so there was no room to move. In one instance, the thigh of the man sitting next to me was touching mine for the ENTIRE duration of the flight. Unless I wanted to screw my back up bad, by turning my body sideways in my seat, I had no choice but to leave my leg where it was. He was half in my seat. In the other instance, the woman's arm in the next seat was permanently in my chest. Lovely. I dream of the day I can make this journey in Business.

I had a teen kicking my seat she was in like about 16-17 and sitting next to her parents and i was sitting with my dad. the whole flight kicking my seat i yelled and told her to stop. went to sleep then get startled by hard kicking. so i push the seat back so hard her drink spilled on her. she may of smirk at me after the flight but at least i didnt look like the idiot with soda spilled all over me. next time im just gonna start screaming at people who kick my seat. how dumb do you have to be to not avoid hitting the seat.

On a totally crowded plane I was lucky enough to score a seat with only one other person in the 3 seat row. Then he switched his seat with a woman and her loudly crying baby. Thank God the woman's husband came over about 5 minutes later asking if I wanted to switch seats with him. 5 minutes of sheer panic on my part.

I was on a flight to Florida and throughout the whole flight someone kept passing gas. I was so nauseous that I thought I was going to vomit and it simply felt like the plane will never get to Tampa.

I was flying from Kiev to Chicago and my seat was next to this Polish guy with horrific breath. I had no leg room because of the location of the seat and the guy with the bad breath kept asking me to help him fill out his customs form. I was super jet-lagged and all I wanted to do was SLEEP!!

At the start of a 9-hour trip, a guy reeking with body odor sat next to me. The flight attendant had already said that the plane was full but I begged her to find me another seat. Thank goodness there was one seat that became available and I took it even though I would be in the middle seat.

as a teen a sport team i was on traveled by plane to a competition. my seat was in the middle row, and i didn't feel good. when they served the food it was DISCUSTING. seriously, the look, the smell; gross! anyway, i told the flight attendent that i didn't want it, that it was making me sick. she told me, through gritted teeth, "just. eat it". i projectile vomited all over the girls on either side of me, all over the seats all around me, all over me. i don't remember anything really after that because i was so sick. spent the whole trip in the hotel room in bed.
