What Is Your Office's Dress Code?

When your office requires a specific dress code you can end up with several wardrobes: one for work, one for casual daytime, and another for nights out. Leaving a business-casual environment (no sleeveless shirts, open-toed shoes, denim, etc.) and moving to a casual environment was a truly freeing experience for me! Not to mention the money I save from not having to buy a separate work wardrobe. What do you wear to the office?

our office is basically in between casual and formal. As event management company we can wear pretty much whatever we want, but has to be smart and not trashy ( especially for the girls..... as sometime we got carried away...;).... But at least we can have fun with our wardrobe..... however, when we are to meet certain clients, we do need to dress up, to respect them and to convince that we are reliable company with professional staff, to convince them that their event is in a great hand....;)

I work in the oil industry, so my daily wardrobe requirements change rapidly. One day it will be business professional and the next day very business casual. I also have days at my home office which I get to wear pjs. It just makes my closet very interesting.

I work at a bookstore Mondays and Tuesdays, so I get to wear jeans and casual wear. On Thursdays and Fridays I work at a library within a medical society, and they have business casual, but they do observe casual Fridays. With my schedule, because the real Friday is my Tuesday, I try to look polished and professional on that day.

I work in radio, so I wear whatever I want. Flip-flops, whatever! It's awesome, even though my fiancee can't seem to grasp the concept that "No, really. I can wear jeans and a t-shirt to work every day."

business casual- i usually wear nice slacks and a top or button-down. on days i see clients, it's usually a suit.

Business casual but I don't seem to follow the rules - neither do half the other employees. We wear denim (every once in a while) and I have to say that my shoes are pretty funky - regardless of being open toe or not.

as casual as u can get. i'm a nurse so i wear scrubs and tennis shoes. or crocs. or whatever is comfortable on the feet.

We're casual, but I still try to follow some business casual rules. No flip flops, no bare shoulders, etc. I wear denim once in a while, but usually its in the form of a skirt. I am wearing a strapless dress without a sweater today though! (and open toed shoes...tsk tsk) It is just SOOO hot outside.

Casual, I work from home, and usually barefoot, in jeans or shorts, and a t-shirt. But for that reason I really enjoy dressing up and getting out on evenings and weekends, even if its just to wander around a shop or library, I think its important to have a balance.

it's so cold at my job because of the air conditioner its funny I have to wear turtle necks and sweaters as my daily business casual attire in the middle of summer lol

I work for a US Senate campaign and things are surprisingly casual. With a small office (4M, 3F) the guys wear anything from shorts w/ tucked in oxfords, to polos untucked with jeans. We girls dress a bit nicer and typically sport casually cute, conservative dresses or other dressy casual outfits. Today our campaign manager has on a tailored black shift w/ a coral statement necklace and peeptoes, our scheduler has on slacks with a flowy summer top, and I am in white denim j. crew capris, a yellow long sleeve j. crew crewneck tee with white j.crew espadrilles. I suppose our conservative casual dress matches our conservative candidate.

I am so jealous of you all! We're completely formal business attire. I've even been pulled aside for wearing a dress (we're talking a work dress, not a sundress) and told I really should wear a complete suit every day. I'm starting to think I'm going to have to become one of those awful people that wears a black suit every single day. I love fashion, but simply cannot get away with wearing anything trendy or colorful on the job.

Business casual which can be confusing for women. I think I would rather it be formal. The morning would be so much easier. I am sure I'm not alone when I say that sometimes I have trouble figuring out what business casual really means. I don't think we're saving any money by going business casual instead of formal business.

Tech company with no official dress code. Some of the higher ups dress up, all the tech flunkies dress ultra-casual. To be honest, I've thought about dressing nicer (more business casual) just to be taken seriously as I try to climb the ladder.

Business casual...however in court you have to wear a blazer..no blouses or t-shirts.

Business Casual.. typically wear khaki like pants and a polo shirt or top. We all wear Chung Shi shoes everyday. We can wear any shoes that we sell though.
