Getting a job and being able to save for college.

everything on that. been laid off. no jobs in my town so the only job that i may get is 30-40min away but its only temporary. not enough unemployment checks to pay credit cards. boo! no health insurance.

I just started a short term temp gig last week and have an interview next week. But it's so unnerving not having that certainty of a job.

my biggest worry is being able to pay all my bills right now since my fiance is out of work and i'm responsible now to pay for everything where i used to have to only pay for 1/2

We could easily pay off a lot of debt each month if we were disciplined, but unfortunately, we leech money like we have holes in our hulls. We both discuss each purchase, but I can't say no to my hubbie and he can't say no to me, so we are really lacking in the savings department. If it wasn't for our tax refund, we'd never have any savings... I wish we could be as disciplined as we were at the beginning of our marriage (only 6 years ago!) when we lived on 13k a year...

Right now I'm worried about paying my bills on my newly slashed salary. But I expect to lose my job at the end of the fiscal year, so I should probably start worrying about that soon.

I've got only about 1 1/2 months of savings set aside so I'm working to bring that up to 3 months. I'd like to be able to do that by the end of 2009, if all goes well.

paying the bills - and losing my job. paying the bills because i don't make that much and my husband can't find a job in this economy. and losing my job because my company has begun "voluntary" buy-outs....we all know what comes next.

A lot of these are really worrisome for me, but my foremost one right now is getting a job that pays enough to cover all of my expenses [from healthcare, school loans, tuition, etc.].

Retirement savings, most definitely. My husband's company has decided to stop matching their 401k contributions, so when we put money in, it doesn't go as far. Not to mention that our 401k has been cut in half since the stock market has been falling. The one good thing is that we are many years away from retirement, so we're hoping that things turn around and we're hoping the 401k matching will start happening again.

Almost all these things are on my mind. We are doing pretty good and I thank GOD everyday. My main worry is that we both keep our jobs and things are getting slim all around the hubby works in banking and he's stressed to the 100th power right now.

Paying bills is my worry. It's seems like the more I pay bills, the more behind I am. I am a temp that makes pennies and I have been looking for jobs to no avail but I am having to have a paycheck every friday.

Improving my position. I really want to move up in my field, but everything is frozen. I feel bad, because a lot of people are loosing everything, but I'm worried about this crisis putting me behind on my goals.

Saving money, period! My husband and I have a decent savings but we can't seem to save anymore than we currently have. It all gets eaten once we pay our monthly bills (mortgage etc.)... so we end up with the same amount we started with, ugh! Therefore, I'm worried about saving for a down payment on a bigger house, a baby (when the time comes), and of course retirement. UGH!
