What Time Does Work Start?

If you're living 9 to 5 like a Dolly Parton song, your hours are probably cut out for you. However, I have very few friends who actually work a traditional schedule and arrive at work right at 9. When do you settle into your workday?

I don't work a "9-to-5" and it depends on the day.

One thing I love about my job is that I get to pick my own hours. The department I work in is open from 6 am to 11 pm. I prefer 2nd shift, so I work either 2-10 or 3-11. I couldn't handle working day shift. (Not only am I not an morning person, but I have IBS and my symptoms seem to be worse if I wake up early).

From 10 to 7pm now. I had to avoid traffic. I left at 6pm one evening and it took me an hour to get home. Oh and I live only 8 min away from work but I live on supposedly one of the most well known streets of the city. Im considering taking the Marta instead of driving.

It depends on my client, right now 8:00-8:30 which isn't too bad. My last client didn't want me to start until 10:30-11:00AM which made for a long day since I had to be up to get my son off to school.

I don't work 9-5. I sometimes work at 6 am and sometimes I start at 2 pm. I really HATE it because it messes with my sleep schedule.

I work shift work. When I work days I have to be there at 4:30a.m-4:30p.m. and on nights 4:30p.m-4:30am. I live 45 mins away so I tend to have very long days and nights.

It varies, but usually between 7:30 and 8:15. People start rolling in at 5:00 (sometimes as early as 4:00), so I'm one of the later ones. But it's just so hard to get up early!

either 7:00 or 8:00 depending on the day...i used to be late for my 9:00 job because it made me miserable...now that i like what i do, i don't mind waking up at 6:00 am...what a difference :)

8:30am but this week i have a bunch of appointments at home so i will be in later, like more like 10am...tons of people in my office do the 9:30 or 10am thing and i can't handle it! it means i have to stay so much later!
