What Does It Mean When Employees Say They Will Keep You In Mind?

Savvy Community: Will They Really "Keep Me in Mind"?

This question was shared by SavvySugar reader TiaraMH in the Ask Savvy group.

I recently interviewed with a company that I was really excited about. The interview went great, and lasted for at least 45 minutes (which I'm told is a good thing). But, about two weeks after the interview, they called to say that they offered the position to someone else. Before hanging up, my interviewer told me that she'd really enjoyed our interview and thinks they have some positions that may be available in the upcoming months that she'd like to keep me in mind for. I think that would be awesome, as I'm still really interested in working with the company, but is this something I might actually be able to count on or could she have just been BSing???
