March Madness Could Make You a Billionaire This Year

This would be way better than winning the office pool. Heck, you wouldn't even have to go to the office ever again! Affable billionaire Warren Buffett is offering $1 billion to whoever can get a perfect March Madness bracket. He teamed up with Quicken Loans founder Dan Gilbert, also owner of the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers, for the contest that just made college basketball more interesting for non-sports-fans. Before we get to the terms of the creative lottery, let's look at the odds. They're 1 in 9.2 quintillion (huh?!) if you pick your teams randomly and about 1 in 772 billion if you incorporate some hoops knowledge.

As for the terms, the winner will get the billion in 40 yearly installments of $25 million. Bragging rights are paid in full. The 20 most accurate, yet imperfect, entries also get $100,000 each to be used toward a home purchase or contraction job. Only one person can enter per household — so pool your basketball resources — and it's limited to 10 million entries. May the odds be ever in your favor!
