Ryan plays love-struck Noah in The Notebook (2004), and Noah and Allie share a brief but passionate Summer love while they are adolescents. Allie comes from a wealthy family, but Noah works at the local lumber mill. Their differing social classes make their love impossible, and they are separated for seven years. In an effort to win Allie's love back, Noah purchases Windsor Plantation, the abandoned Antebellum mansion that he promised Allie he would renovate for her. He restores it to its former glory, and as intended, this demonstration of his affection wins her over.
Noah's Savvy Lesson: You don't have to be born wealthy to live like a king and marry a queen. However, it does take hard work, persistence, and dedication.
