I'm Asking: What's Your Main Goal For February?

Oh, February! A short, but sweet month filled with Valentines, stormy weather and the countdown to the tax season. Now that 2010 is in full swing and you've had time to gear up on your resolutions it's time to come back down to earth.

Last month most of you said you hoped to kick start the year by spending smart and saving more. What's your primary goal for this fresh, new month?

Stick to the budget I put myself on because January's spending was outrageous.

I'm with @GlowingMoon, get through it :-) Seriously, need to get our taxes done and buy a new computer.

Try to cut down on the electricity bill by being more mindful of my electricity usage, get some home improvement projects done before my husband gets home at the end of the month, and try to find a replacement for my probably-lost-forever wedding/engagement rings. :(

And, when I feel like online shopping (I've finally gotten my eating out mostly under control, so online shopping is where I feel I waste the most money), I look at condos online instead so I have something more tangible that I'm saving for to look at.

I have a certain target in mind that I want to save over most of the next 12 or so months so I have a down payment on a condo by a certain point. There are certain months I know I won't be able to save (for example, the month when I have to fly to Ohio for my niece's first communion and my sister's baby shower (which I'm throwing). So, I've budgeted a smaller amount to save for those months.

Try to go out a bit more and still not spend too much money (do I need to eat out? Nope, I can eat at home then go out). And avoid getting a new expensive flat. We're looking into getting a new flat with my flatmates and I know it'd be more expensive that what we have now, but my flatmate can be a bit pushy for flats she really likes and I'm afraid I'll end up in a place I'll really like but absolutely can't afford.
