The common statistic is that workers change jobs an average seven times in their careers, but younger employees are getting a reputation for job-hopping and failing to develop a sense of loyalty to our employers.
I'm wondering how many jobs you've had since joining the real world: Have you played the field or have you been relatively exclusive?

3....I am 28 now
1I'm on my second and have been here for 6 years. I graduated 8 years ago. I'm 30y/o.
2I graduated 4 years ago and I'm about to start my 4th. I would've stayed with the 2nd job, but the company closed and I was laid off. I've had a hard time finding something I liked as much since.
3I've had 4 and I graduated 5 years ago, but the first I had during college. I'm happy with job #4 right now. I'm telling myself to stay at a job at least 2 years before deciding to change, but that sounds like forever.
4Since law school, I've had 2 and one job in between college & law school. The first job after law school was a clerkship that only lasted 2 years. I wish I was still there--I hate my current job and would have no problem leaving them for something better. There's not really any potential for growth here.
5I'm on job #3 and I'm 37yo.
61. GED exam monitor (1mo)
2. HS spanish teacher (1yr)
3. Advertising Agency #1 (3yrs)
4. Adverising Agency #2(1yr)
5. Does my Grad school residency count? - OfficeMax Mktg. (3mo)
6. current job - research analyst-marketing (5.5mo and counting)
hmmmm - that's all since 1999
7I left school 2 years ago and I am on my 3rd job which I Love. I also loved my first job which was in the same area which I am currently in however it was accounting and I went and is still going to school for media. So I left my accounting job took a pay cut to do media/media planning and HATED it less than a year later with a Master in Media Mgt. I'm working in accounting. Very sad that I wasted all that money on a degree I'll never use.
8Two jobs since law school, once between college and law school. I was at my first law job 2 years and have been at my second 1 year. I hate to switch jobs all the time...but, I'm very unhappy where I am now, so I may be moving on again soon.
9It has been 3 years since I graduated and I'm on my 4th job(I also picked up a masters in media management along the way.)All my jobs have been pretty good, except the 3rd, it was torture, but I think all the jumping around has helped pump up my resume and it has definitely helped me earn more money. Instead of waiting around for raises or promotions at one company I've been able to increase my salary by 20,000 dollars in three years by moving around.
10Since Undergrad - I had the same two I had while I was in school.
Since Graduate - 2 (a contract job and then the one I was laid off at)
With the job I have now, I am at 5.
11this is my third job post college (it's been two years and i'm 24).
i moved to live with my boyfriend and hated the job that i started with here - but now my job is fabulous and i might actually stay for a couple of years.
only problem: boyfriend graduates in may and i am anxious to get to a bigger city again. we'll see how it goes.
12I have been out of school for 6 years now and I have had 5 jobs.
I relocated once so that's my excuse!
However I get annoyed when people think I'm still 23 or something and am at my first job ever.
Where I work now, I've been with more companies than the majority of the old farts here who have only worked one place their whole life.
13Since I graduated in 2006 I have had 1 job. At the end of the year I will relocate to Michigan and begin job number 2.
14Graduated in 2005 and still at Job #1.
15I finished grad school in 2005, had an internship that summer, and then started at my current job. I don't really count the internship as a real job though, so I've only had one serious job since joining the real world.
16Do I have to count really horrible jobs I worked at for 2 weeks or less when I was 18?
17I didn't get a "real" job right out of college. I bartended for a few years first.
So...
1. Bartending job (3 years)
182. Office job #1 (6 years)
3. Part time bartending school instructor during office job #1 (2 years)
4. Office job #2 (6 months)
5. Office job #3 (2.5 years and counting)
i graduated in 05 and i'm still at job #1 - been here for almost 3 years and hopefully not much longer.
19Hahaha, how about how many different CAREERS I've had since college?? I'll say three.
20i've had 5 jobs since i left college - and i guess that's kind of normal..granted only 2 have been in the same industry - there were 2 that were related and then another that was in music - oh well. i liked to try things out i guess - and now i finally figured out what i like to do and what i'm good at.
21I graduated three years ago and am on job #2 (plus a few freelance jobs on the side) -- the first was a retail job just to save up while living at home. I stayed there for almost two years, then relocated and have been at my current job (more on my career path) for almost a year.
221 since I graduated from college and 1 while I was in college.
23Graduated in June, 0 jobs. I start at a children's museum in the fall.
242, but pondering whether I should look into my 3rd with more schooling as the economy is hurting my industry.
255 jobs in 8 years, including one which lasted 4 years. That sounded better in my head!
26Well, I graduated a little over 2 years ago, and I'm on my second job. Worked at my first job for almost 2 years until I got laid off.
27Not counting my freelance business, which is perpetual regardless of other employment, I've had only one job since college.
Ironically, when I was hired I planned on staying only a year (and told my employer so), but ended up liking it so much that I've stayed.
28I graduated 2004, so not that long ago, I'm starting job #6 and i travelled for 10 months in 06/07.
29Although a lot of them were contracts and I would still be at #4 probably, if it hadn't closed.
graduated in 2005, 1 yr in random desk job. 2 yrs (next thursday) in cool online marketing job #2. That's not that bad, right?
30I graduated in 1999 from University... I have had 8 jobs since then. The first four jobs I had each lasted 3 to 6 months... And I left each one to "upgrade" in position and salary.
Then, the last four, I worked at each for exactly a year and a half before moving on.
I have been at my current job for over a year and a half, and I will be leaving it in April of next year.
I actually haven't found that being a "job jumper" has been a problem. And I think that's because I upgraded with each job. Even though I love my current job, I have recruiters trying to entice me away... As it is difficult to find legitimately talented people in my field.
314 including a consulting job, I'm 26.
32I'm still in college, but in the 15 months I took off (two semesters+summers) I had two. Now that I've moved back to my college town, I'm hoping I'll find my third very quickly!
