Most of our heating bills are naturally higher during these chilly, Winter months, but sometimes I forget to turn off my thermostat when I'm rushing out the door to work. That pushes my bill up even higher — and what a waste! A solution for forgetful people like me would be to invest in a programmable thermostat ($35). You can set the thermostat ahead of time with up to four settings a day.
