How Will Our Guests Know Where We're Registered?

Ask a Savvy Bride: Should I Share Where We're Registered?

Letting your guests know where you've chosen to register can be tricky. Caroline wanted to do it in a tactful way, but wasn't sure how. The Savvy Bride shares her suggestions below. If you have questions of your own, be sure to ask them here in our Ask Savvy group!

Dear Savvy,

I'm a bride, registered at three stores, and very against listing them out on our wedding invitation. We've decided not to have a wedding website either so I fear guests won't know where we are registered if they don't ask one of us. I know not everyone advertises that information so can I trust that the word will get out or am I running the risk of not getting any gifts?

I happen to agree with your decision to not print where you're registered on your wedding invitation (that could come off presumptuous), but what about subtly printing the information on your bridal shower invitation? Since showers are basically thrown to "shower the bride" with gifts, it feels perfectly appropriate to me. You could also sign up for WeddingChannel.com, which is a very well known resource (and free of charge!), to simply state your wedding date, city, and the stores where you're registered which will give your guests a place to look up that pertinent information without having to bother you or your fiancé.

While I understand your fear, I'd be seriously surprised if you had guests attend your wedding without giving you a gift, but to cover your bases, I'd put the information in print somewhere, at least once. Good luck!
