After seeing her world ranking slip to no. 64 in 2010, Ana Ivanovic has climbed back to no. 12, securing one of the richest endorsement deals for a female athlete from Adidas along the way. She fell in the third round of Olympic women's singles competition to Kim Cljisters of Germany, but fortunately this tennis champ has $7.2 million in yearly earnings to fall back upon!

What a misleading headline. 7 of the 8 athletes make all their money as a result of professional tennis. They just happen to be Olympians this year. If you are going to "explore" this subject...do a better job. I'd love to read about how different athletes are able/unable to parley their Olympic success into business ventures. Never saw the Darling of the Olympics gymnasts like Olga Korbut, or Nadia C. or more recently Dominique do much with it other than coaching and a traveling show..Bet Gabby cashes in big time.
