Okay, so I have a crush on my boss. He is NOT married. I really want to see if he's interested in . . . anything really. What do y'all think I should do? How do I subtly let him know I am interested without getting myself in trouble if he is not . . .

If it's just a crush don't risk your job over it. Find someone new dude. Think about it, what happens if you do go on a date and it doesn't go well or you guys date for months and get into a huge fight and break up. Going to work would become hell. A crush is one thing but pinning for him is another. If it ever gets to that point then have a back up plan (the one sweet melissa suggested is perfect).

Before you ask him out, get a new job. Get a transfer or a promotion or seek new employment. You don't want to be this guy's direct report if things go south.
