Late-night infomercials can cause people to act out of character and buy things over the phone that they don't really need. Have you ever fallen prey to the often-convincing advertisements?

Watch out for auto shipping Auto shipping is a scam in and of it’s self I have a friend that works in the industry and he tells me the following 1. Whether it is internet or a phone sale the auto ship is explained however it is never clear. They are trained to gloss over auto ships and just meet the FCC guidelines that keep them out of court. 2. This is true only for the 800 number call operators are standing by calls STAY AWAY FROM THE FREE OFFERS AT THE END OF THE CALL. They are trained to try and lull you in by using a very monotone voice and at the end of the statement saying “OK” real brightly. People they are reading you a CONTRACT and it IS binding The best way to not mess with these is as soon as they start hang up!!

I got a pediegg for easter. HOLY COW it is the most amazing thing I've ever had. Years of cheerleading/gymnastics coupled with my habit of being barefoot whenever possible means I get NASTY calluses .. and this thing really does take them right off. I can't say enough good things. FYI to those who may have ordered it - the company that markets the Shamwow is being investigated for fraud.

yes i have - i've gotten those ab worker things ...the ones that you strap on and they have this pulsing thing that makes your abs work while yo'ure just sitting there watching tv

I love infomercials, but never actually buy anything from them, mostly because I don't need any of it at all. And I think Snuggies are ridiculous. I think the only infomercial item that would ever tempt me would any of the Time Life Collections--I love those things! The bonus CDs are usually what hook me in, if the "celebrity" doesn't.

I usually wait until it's cheaper on Amazon and then get whatever I've been watching... I'm such a sucker!!! But, Turbo Jam is really good!

yes, i was kind of addicted to the shopping channel awhile back :oy: about a year ago i had a question for our postman, and went out to his mail jeep. the ENTIRE back of it was jam packed full of boxes with "QVC" return addresses. apparently i'm not the only one that found it addicting :)

I've never ordered anything from an infomercial; probably because my dad ordered something once that was a total piece of junk. It was this metal plate that would supposedly thaw meat really fast by sucking heat out of the air and transferring into the meat. It basically had the same effect as just leaving the meat out on the counter and I'm pretty sure it made the meat a breeding ground for all sorts of gross things.

I bought those Debbie Meyer's green bags which is supposed to stop produce from spoiling quickly and they work pretty well but I found that they work much better on some vegetable/fruit then others.

I've bought a ped egg and the shoe under. They were both 10 bucks but I bought them at Walgreens. I bought Bare Escentuals after seeing it on TV at Sephora before my big trip to London and love it!

I bought a Tae Bo video once. The InStyler has almost sucked me in. I read a review by Glamour online the other day ChimericGirl. They said it wasn't bad and actually left their hair shinier than a straightening iron. I'm still undecided.

I've never bought anything from an infomercial, but I've been seriously tempted. Bed, Bath & Beyond says they sell most infomercial products, so I'd probably get it from there - no shipping & handling! I really want a Magic Bullet. My favorite infomercial of al time has to be Yoga Booty Ballet, though! :D

The Magic Bullet is my favorite informercial, though I have not bought it yet. I did buy TurboJam because I love my Turbo Kick classes at the gym and wanted to do it all the time haha.
