Have You Ever Held a Garage or Yard Sale?

More than 50 percent of you make a habit of stopping by garage sales, and for those of you who enjoy perusing other people's stuff it's good news that yard and garage sales are becoming more common. Have you been on the selling end of these situations, or are you always a buyer?

My family used to hold garage sales when I was little and then we stopped b/c it was so much work!

Not yet, but I'm planning on doing one next year. We have a gigantic garage and I think I'll just move stuff into the garage, put up price signs, and see who comes. I'm not sure many people will buy my stuff though...seems like the biggest market around my area is for kids clothes and plus-sized womens' wear, which I have none of. Some of my books and electronics will sell though.

No, I haven't, but my husband has. He was in charge of our first (and so far only) yard sale. He sold EVERYTHING. All our furniture was purchased. I was impressed with him. However, truthfully, there was a small part of me that was not entirely surprised, as we had excellent furniture. I am very picky about my furniture, and all the pieces were good, craftsman pieces. They were in terrific shape -- no damage, with plenty of years of wear left. We got rid of them because we changed our interiors.

My in-laws have one every summer and we usually bring stuff over. It's fun :)

I've done a few...but I haven't had one for at least 10 years! Perhaps it's time?

I donate or ebay. With ebay & craigslist yard sales wouldn't have as good a return and are less convenient.

Yup we have one almost every year. When we do them its not just our house, my aunts, uncles, and grandparents also bring stuff. The yard sell doesn't last long because we sell the stuff really fast since we price the stuff really low.

I hate having them it's too much work anymore, so I just donate things. I used to love to go to them but more and more people are just stashing everything in their garages with things marked up near or the same price as what I could pay at Walmart. They aren't selling things to get rid of them their just trying to make a buck. It's really annoying. So I don't even bother.
