Not that I don't appreciate the sentiment, but in most parts of the US, the farmers markets are not open until at least March or April, sometimes even later. Ones that are open now will likely have much more baked goods, canned foods, and frozen items than fresh produce, unless you live in a climate with very mild winters or active hothouse production. It seems to me like this post would have been more appropriate during the late spring or summer. I suppose it is spot on for our southern-hemisphere friends, though.
