I couldn't agree more with the bridesmaid dresses! I've already decided that when I get married I'm letting my bridesmaids choose their own dresses so they can find something that they're both physically and financially comfortable with!

"Talk to your wedding planner" Wait, I thought you said not to use a wedding planner. Anyway, this is a pretty lame set of advice here. My cousin had the non-identical bridesmaids dresses. It looked horrid. They all had the same fabric in a different style that suited them. That fact alone took all the attention right off the bride and onto the mismatching bridesmaids! As for the other stuff...really? What sort of high-maintenance woman is this geared toward? Maybe I don't live in the right social circle, but this "article" wouldn't apply to any women I have ever known.

My friend used his fiancee's mother's diamond in a new, custom setting. It's so beautiful! (And he's a former art student, paying back a ton of student loans while going from min wage job to min wage job.) Proof that it can be done on a budget! (And using mom's stone is so romantic!)
