got rid of the credit card debt last year. i'm slowly whittling away the monster student loan, but i just redid my budget and will be paying twice as much on it. if i stay on track, i can have it paid off in 4.5 years--woohoo!

as a year ago, I have no cc or miscellaneous debt of any kind... but unlike last year, I have a mortgage! And, as I bought a house in one of the few areas in the country where real estate is still appreciating, not depreciating, I am excited to spend $4k a month on my mortgage and not on rent!

I've cut my debt in half over the last year and I'm hoping to pay off the rest of it in the next couple months.

About the same. I've still got my student loans and am paying off some medical bills. They are slowly getting whittled down, but not enough to make me feel like I've reduced my debt.

we bought a house back in 2006 and we owe about the same now, I just hope this time we get a refund

More student loan debt since I'm still in school but I won't be accumulating anymore. And I'm done this year so it won't be long before I start paying it down and it should be all gone by sometime in 2010.

Unfortunately, I have more now than I did a year ago. Surgery (even with insurance) is expensive and I had three this year. I am working to pay everything off now and I'm hoping there are no more unexpected medical emergencies.

Unfortunately more. Moving out was expensive, and it's all on credit cards. A lot of that has already been paid off, but a lot more is still to go.

Less debt, I guess...we're chipping away at the student loans and the mortgage and that's the only debt I have. No credit card debt to worry about though.

I don't really consider owning a house "debt" because debt has a horrible connotation... owning a house is a GOOD thing!

Much less!!! I currently have no debt at all!!! YAY!!!! I had to take a second job to pay it off. I am so happy to not owe a single dime now. And I still have the extra job so that I can spend this year padding my savings.

Less! I'm making more this year too, so more to dedicate to getting it taken care. Almost done with my student loans, yay! Just have this one bad debt that is slowly getting whittled away. Hoping by the end of this year it will be gone.

my CC debt is under $1000, I owe for another year on my car, so I'm doing good in that respect. But we bought house in Dec so now Im WAY more in debt!

ive never had credit card debt but I bought a new car so i guess i owe more on that now than i did when i had my other car . .
