Did You Bring Your Lunch to Work Today?

Buying lunch every day can really add up, so it makes good sense to bring your midday meal at least a few days each week. Did you bring or buy your lunch today?

i brought my lunch today, but i normally dont just because im lazy. i dont really eat out much except when i dont bring my lunch, so its like a treat not to eat home cooked food. but i know its a great way to save money.

I work at home so I eat at home anyways...BUT....I do the cute 50s thing and pack a lunch for my boyfriend to take every day. Usually a sandwich, or leftovers from dinner the night before, or tuna and rice (which for some reason he loves.). Rice cookers are awesome. We are up at 7, he gets the rice going if needed, and I make the coffee, and its always ready in about 20 minutes. If you plan ahead and make extra dinner the night before, packing a lunch is just SO fast. And sandwiches, too, are just super quick.

I bring my lunch everyday, also. It's cheaper and healthier. But it's really hard smelling the food that comes walking through here sometimes....

Live 4 km from work... so it's a quick drive home for a hot lunch..

Sadly I bring my lunch everyday - I'm really poor and also trying to keep my weight in check. I actually really hate it when people want me to go out to lunch with them, because I know it makes me fat and poor :(

I live on the same building, so I eat at home Monday-Thursday. Fridays my boss takes us out to lunch, how cool is he?!

I bring my lunch with me everyday except on payday. I take myself out that day. Kinda like a reward day.

Ha!! I usually go home for lunch like bluepuppybites (I work half time in my small town, 5 miles from the house, and the other half in downtown DC) or bring it since DC eating is so pricey, saves me a lot! But, like Martini, today is payday so all us HR girls are going out for taco salads..my weakness :feedme:

today its leftovers. we get free lunches 1 to 2 days a week. lately i've been slacking and buying a lot- but i try to keep it cheap with a lot of soup

Lately I have been buying lunch but I work around some inexpensive stores. We have a honeybaked ham and I will get half a sandwich, chips and drink for under $4.00 (kid's meal) or sometimes add a cup of soup and still will spend under $5.00. I try to get lunches under $5.00. I will bring leftovers in if I cook the night before.

I find it is best for me to bring it...I eat so much healthier that way. There is a bakery/deli/taqueria (seriously) nearby that is way overpriced and way bad for you, and with so many options in one place that is within so little walking distance, that can get dangerous fast.

I would bring my lunch to work if my commute weren't so long (usually an hour and 15 mins, but oftentimes longer, especially in the winter) and if I didn't take public transportation (train, subway, and then a 15-minute walk). During the summer, I'd worry that my food would spoil and during the winter, I get tired just walking around wearing so many extra layers!

i don't typically eat lunch, but if i did then i would be bringing it cause it's so much more cost effective and it's just too darn cold out :( living in NYC means that you have to walk out in the rain or snow or cold or whatever the weather is to get stuff - it's not as easy as just hopping in your car to get something

I always bring my own lunch...the food at the cafeteria is always overpriced. Sometimes if I'm in the mood for an egg, I'll buy one of those. But most of the time I bring my own food.

I keep a stash of mostly-healthy snacks (instant oatmeal, almonds, Slim Fasts, etc.) in my cupboard @ work, and one or two Yoplaits & Diet Cokes in the fridge. I try to plan ahead & pack my lunches almost every day. It does save a lot of money!

I'm really trying to pack myself lunch every day. There aren't many options within reasonable walking distance of my work place, especially considering I'm a vegetarian. I really can't/shouldn't eat as many muffins from the bakery across the street as I do.

I have been bringing lunch for years now but this job I probably do it 3-4 times a week rather than 5 (not too bad but I should reduce it to maybe a few times a month).
