This Eco Cleaner Will Save Your Car Seat

Kids are fun, amazing, and messy. And they're stuck in a car seat for several years, which makes this safety must have a big gunk collector. From itty bits of food to spilled juice, your kid's car seat is also a breeding ground for bacteria and ick. Not to mention when tummy trouble or diaper blow outs happen — especially if you the car seat cover isn't removable! This cleaner is free of chemicals and made from ingredients you already have in your pantry.

What You'll Need:

  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon dish soap
  • Small bowl or squeeze bottle
  • Clean hand towel or microfiber cloth
  • Hose (optional)

Directions:

  1. Mix together the water, vinegar, and dish soap, creating a safe cleaning solution that tackles stains and smells. And,don't worry — your tot's car seat won't reek of vinegar after you are finished! The smell doesn't linger, resulting in a fresh-smelling ride.
  2. Remove the car seat from your vehicle, and find a spot where you can give it a good cleaning. Use a hose attachment along car seat seams before using the natural cleaner.
  3. Dampen a clean hand towel or microfiber cloth with the cleaner, and dab into stains on the car seat cover. Or simply use to wipe the entire seat. If you're dealing with a big mess, pour the cleaner into a squeeze bottle and squirt directly on the covering.
  1. Continue working on the car seat until it is nice and fresh. Let dry, and then properly reinstall in your vehicle.
  2. But wait! Dealing with a serious situation? Take cleaning to the next level, and lightly hose down your car seat. It's OK to get the seat wet, just avoid soaking the straps, which can weaken the harness. Focus the hose on areas that have been stained, then continue wiping with the cleaning solution until the mess is gone. Finish with a light spritz of water, and place the car seat in a sunny spot to dry.
