These DIY Lavender-and-Peppermint Shower Tablets Will Soothe Your Holiday Stress

Find a little time to unwind with the soothing scent of these aromatherapy shower tablets. Designed to relieve tension and provide headache relief, the tablets will release the natural scents of lavender and peppermint oils to instantly remind you of a relaxing day at the spa. Place one or two tablets on the floor of your shower/tub, and let the water from your shower head do all the work. The tablets are super easy to make, and would make a great DIY holiday gift to share with friends and loved ones.

Here's what you'll need:

  • 2 cups baking soda
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Peppermint essential oil
  • Lavender essential oil
  • Silicone cupcake molds
  • Baking pan
  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring cup
  • Spoon for mixing

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Measure 2 cups baking soda and pour into a mixing bowl. Add 1/2 cup water to the baking soda. Mix thoroughly. Ensure the texture of the mixture is similar to wet sand.

Spoon the mixture into the silicon molds, or you could use paper cupcake liners. Place the molds/liners onto a baking tray or into cupcake pan.

Place the pan onto the middle oven rack, and allow the tablets to bake for 15 to 17 minutes.

Add 5 to 6 drops of each oil type to the tablets.

Once the tablets have completely cooled, remove them from the molds.

While showering, place 1 to 2 tablets on the floor of your tub, and allow warm water to melt them and release the vapor.
