Lately the only paper bills that make their way into my mailbox are of the medical kind, because I've been suppressing my paper bills and statements since the option became available and pay them online as well. I love living a mostly paperless lifestyle — not only does it create less clutter on all available surfaces in my apartment, but I know it's doing some environmental good, too.
It surprised me to learn that most Americans still pay their bills by sending a check through the mail, as determined by a 2007 Federal Reserve survey. I pay all my bills online except the health insurance. My fiance though never pays it online and it drives me nuts! he thinks that if he pays it online then he is signing up for monthly automatic payments. Tis annoying.
I have a question about this. I pay my comcast online, but nowhere online have I found a "do not send paper bill option" I still get an email from them, but I also get a paper bill. Their bill is also a few pages long. Whats up with that?
1We pay the vast majority of our bills online. But there are a few, like the county water bill, that we can't. We're trying though!
2I really need to start doing this! The only bill I pay online is my auto insurance.
3I pay all my bills online except my car payment and when I pay off a large amount on a credit card that's all done with a check.
4i pay most of my bills online. and receive my bills online. except american express because even though i have changed it to online SEVERAL times, and my billing address changed SEVERAL TIMES, they still send it to my OLD address. sigh.
5my ex-bf who works with computers refuses to pay his bills online. he doesn't trust computers. go figure.
I pay all my bills online, the ones that I can have paperless are sent to my e-mail as a reminder. I also have some vendors I set up with my bill pay like medical, so if I ever have a bill I just go to online banking and click to have a check sent from the bank. It is much easier this way. It is especially easy b/c there is really no down time most of my vendors (monthly bills except rent) receive there payments that day or the next.
6I pay about 95% of my bills online thru my bank's billpay option. However, I do get my bills in the mail...I need the paper reminder because it's too easy for me to forget to pay with just an online statement. I guess I'm halfway there...maybe I'll try to go paperless.
7I love doing everything online; in the days of e-mail reminders and being able to pay easily with credit card, I definitely don't see the benefit in getting paper mail that I will just have to recycle soon after.
