    Best Buys at Warehouse Clubs
Almost every list of saving tips includes some mention of buying things in bulk. But if you’re not the Gosselins or the Duggars, are warehouse clubs (like Costco, Sam’s Club, and BJ’s Wholesale) really that great of a deal? The answer is yes — if you know how to shop smart. Read on to see which products make sense to buy in bulk.

Have to say that the only one that I disagree with is paper products. A 36 pack roll of TP at my Costco is like 20 dollars. I get it at Target for a regular price of 17, on sale sometimes for 16 & I just found it at my grocery store last week on sale for 13. Seven dollars is a LOT.

I agree with everything else. Meat is a huge one. My fiance gets 5 large steaks for 25-27 dollars. Or a bag with 10 large salmon fillets for 17. Bags of frozen chicken breasts are also discounted.

If you have a large family, milk and eggs are something you can also get in bulk. Unforch, we wouldn't use those fast enough.

We get 3-packs of our favorite pasta sauces (they are large jars as well), cereal (two large bags of cheerios for 5 dollars - same as one large box at the store), dried fruit (enormous bags - 5 lbs of dried mango for 10 bucks), Bread, bagels, english muffins - if you have room to freeze are usually a pretty good deal, Large bags of potatoes, 4 packs of large artichokes, hummus, cheese, tin foil, garbage bags, frozen fruit (a small bag with three servings at the grocery store can be 4-5 dollars, for 8 you can get 20+ servings), my fiance gets 3-packs of frozen pizza for about the same price as one at the store, batteries, light bulbs, socks... and more.

I check prices very carefully, so I know what's a good deal and what isn't at our store!

I didn't realize that about the paper products, ella. I'll have to look more closely next time. I do only buy with the coupons from Costco, so I'm not sure if it would be cheaper or not that way.

The hummus from Costco is so good- we get that, too! I do most of our shopping at Costco, and it works out well for us. We eat a lot of eggs, so we get those there as well. We just started doing milk, and for some reason it seems to have a longer expiration date than the grocery store, so it has been working fine so far.

A great reminder, and incentive, to stop running into that expensive grocery store and brave the lines to save at a warehouse store. I also sometimes forget to figure in the sizes when considering how much I'm saving-for instance, that 24 bottle case of water at the grocery store turns into a 32 bottle case , and cheaper! at Costco. Same with those rolls of paper towels and t.p.- besides checking prices, be sure you check how much you really are buying.
