Most brides-to-be are familiar with the wedding websites owned by The Knot Inc., and the company just released the results of their 2007 survey that questioned over 20,000 newly-wed couples nationwide. While the results aren't meant to serve as a guideline for how you should handle your own wedding, it's interesting to see where you fall in terms of spending and planning among other couples around the country. Find out how much you know about the average wedding when you take this quiz!

Balenciaga
I did okay. I got the photographer one wrong...I spent a lot more than that average price on my photographer! But it was well worth it. I have the best album I've seen.
Also got the guest list one wrong.
1it's always interesting to see what the "average" folks are up to... our wedding was so small (and cheap) compared to this! we spent a total of approx. $7000, with the big ticket items being pictures, flowers & food. but we also got married 6 years ago in a park, made my dress & the bridesmaid dresses, and had only 80 guests... it was wonderful! if I had it to do over, the only thing i would change is ordering more taquitos, and making sure i had more than one bite of cake!
2Just am pulling things together for our cost, and its around $9,000 after all is said and done.
3yeah, my wedding (2 years ago) was WAY lower than these averages as well.
4This is a great quiz. Most brides to be have no idea how much the average wedding costs! We are hoping to keep ours under $10k.
5Wow! After seeing so many Knot users discussing their budgets, I'm really shocked at the average total budget (both w/ and w/o honeymoons). I thought my $18k wedding was on the high side in comparison to most of the US (but not compared to other Bay Area weddings), then again I cut many corners.
62 wrong - guest lists (thought they'd be bigger, even though mine was smaller than average) and photographer (i wish mine was in the $2,000s!).
7that is a lot of money for one day.
8I did horrible. My wedding wasn't ordinary so I had no idea how much people spend on things like this. I only got 2 right.
9i guessed at a few and got 7/7 right. Seriously...weddings are so expensive!!! Mine was 13 yrs ago and we had a great wedding, although small..only 60 people...at a really elegant local country club with a sit down dinner, gorgeous cake, excellent DJ, wonderful photographer AND videographer, a makeup artist and hair stylist for me and all my girls, a gazebo ceremony, a horse and carriage, 4 hour open bar and cocktail hour also, gorgeous flowers, favors, and decor, and limo all for about $11,000. Throw in my dress, my daughter's flower girl dress and shoes, etc...all my undergarments, the groom's tux, the invitations and stationery, and numerous extra costs and it was about $13,500. That is for everything. My honeymoon to Disney cost about $1500. My daughter wants to get married at Disney at the wedding pavillion and have her reception at the Grand Floridian...we are looking at a minimum of $25,000. That includes the photographer and music and flowers and food, etc...but not her dress or invitations or all the little extras that come along with it. Its going to take me 2 years to pay it all off!!
10I am shocked with the honeymoon average. You add that to the wedding and your over 50k. I did horrible on the quiz 3 out 5.
117/7--Guess who's helping plan a wedding! The average cost of a cake is amazing.
12the honeymoon average is the wedding + honeymoon, so the honeymoon average alone is about 5,000.
133/7, way expensive!
14I'm too young to even really be thinking about marriage, but having to spend over $30,000 on a wedding is ridiculous. I have college loans to take care of! Plus, there must have been a few high outliers when calculating that average. I don't know if six hours is worth a semi-luxurious new car.
15I got a 6/7...I took the quiz with my boyfriend and he was outraged at how much everything cost! We plan on doing ours for around $5000, but I can see how easy it is to spend $30,000 on it.
166/7 and I thought I did horrible! I hope I don't spend this much when it's my time to get married!
17i want you folks who spent under $10k to plan my wedding! ha!
18Wow, I guess wedding cakes cost a lot more than I thought!
19I have ALWAYS heard to never tell vendors it's a wedding when possible. My cousin took that advice to heart and saved about two grand.
20graylen ... that's what I am going to do
21I really hope that I don't wind up spending that much! It's crazy how things start to add up.
