Interviews are nerve-wracking no matter how poised, practiced, and professional you are. Hiring managers thrive off asking weird and random questions, but there are a few staples that always seem to make the conversation. Which of these is your least favorite to answer?

I HATE "name a situation where you had to..." my mind COMPLETELY blanks. Especially because you never know what the end of their question will be!

in my last interview, i was asked to name three things people would be surprised to know about me...ugh...i named two and blanked...after a loooong silence, he finally moved on...i did manage to get the job, though!

Not a question, more of a statement: So, tell me about yourself... I really hate that one and it's usually the first one. No matter how much I practice, I blank.

The one job especially- retail at an educational resource store (teacher aids and educational toys)- there were kids in and out of that place all day, it was pedophile heaven. They drug tested once- gave me 90 days notice about it- but they didn't even ask about a criminal record. I never brought it up, I've got a couple minor drug/alcohol misdemeanors. Still shocking though.

I don't like where will you be in 5 years...I can't say I want your job by then or it depends. And I'm surprised at Betty's comment that her last 2 employers didn't run back ground checks. I'm a consultant and my last 2 clients ran background checks and one even did a drug test (first time in years of consulting).

"Have you ever been convicted of or plead guilty to a crime involving drugs or alcohol?" My last two employers didn't run a back-ground check, surprisingly.
