Somehow I always manage to jam pack my wallet with more stuff than it was intended to hold. Regularly cleaning out the contents and re-organizing helps me in a couple of ways. Instead of just throwing out everything that looks like it doesn't belong, I look at every folded receipt to see what purchases I've recently made. More lunch receipts than usual means I need to bring my lunch more the following week. When I come across receipts for items I've been meaning to return, I stick the item in my bag or set it out on the table to remind me it needs to go in the mail. Added bonus: you won't have things spilling out of your wallet when your hands are full and you're trying to pay for your morning coffee!

I can usually tell by how thick my wallet gets. I miss having a pda with excel to balance my check book every day. I have it on a jump drive, but I hate doing it.

5i always try keeping all my receipts. it helps me feel a little more organized and it helps me keep track of all my spending. more receipts=less spending for that week. it keeps me in check.

12Thanks for the reminder! I don't have a real wallet because I use my Coach wrislet as one mainly because it's so cute and I can't really find an inexpensive wallet that I like.
I still have old receipts and expired coupons (that haven't been touched) in my "wallet" too. There's this old receipt I have from two months ago when I bought my $300 winter jacket and when ever I take out money, I see it and it makes me feel so bad for splurging on it
. But sometimes
it's good to keep new receipts because you might need to return/exchange it
